RARE/Early Steiff Boston Terrier
This is a wonderful and EARLY example by the master of soft toys at the turn of the century; STEIFF. This is an exceptionally rare form. A Boston Terrier and this example is near mint. There is slight discoloration at the face and the dog is a bit dusty; but the face is delightful. The mohair body is exceptional; no loss of fur at all. The velvet face in magically rendered with a stitched nose and big glass eyes. This example does not retain the paper tag nor a button, but it is the quality of the piece that makes label it Steiff. These are four antique Tobe RADIO Condensers. 1925-1926. On the condenser it says 2MFD. Tobe Precision Condenser, Tobe Deutschmann Company Boston. On back it says 46 25, Made in Germany. They measure 2" X 1/3/4" X 1 3/8" I took these off of an old chasise that I bought at a radio auction. It didn't have a name, It didn't look like a homebrew, it looked factory made. The first picture shows all the decanters included in this listing followed by pictures of different ... moreviews of the decanters. They range in size from approximately 9 1/2" tall to 14 3/8" tall x 3 1/2" wide to 7" wide at the widest part of the bottle. They are made of a heavy. Thick, clear glass. The bottle on the far right in the first photo is embossed with"OLD MR. BOSTON" on the bottom. 2 of the stoppers are lined with plastic and fit tightly in the bottles; one stopper is lined with cork and the cork is cracked. This stopper fits loosely in the bottle; the 4th stopper is solid glass and does have some small chips along the bottom edge of the stopper. The only chips that I could find is on the bottom edge of the solid glass stopper. I don't see any other chips and I don't see any cracks in any of the bottles or stoppers. These decanters do show signs of use such minor scratches. Scuffs and stains. They do look like they could use a really good cleaning. Due to lighting conditions when taking photos.
