A quaint and charming pictorial map of the tourist sites of downtown Boston in 1929. This map was drawn by Charles R. Capon for the Boston Five Cents Savings Bank– which is located at the center of the map. The map depicts important buildings and historic sites in profile with banner style name tags. To either side of the map there are various medallions promoting the arts and sciences. A Baroque style title cartouche appears in the lower left quadrant. Geographicus Fine Antique Maps. A bright and attractive 1920s pictorial map of Boston. By the prominent graphic artist Charles R. Capon. This map is on laid paper and dates from the Revolutionary War(1776) and shows a close-up of Boston and its street lay-out as well as labeling the locations of ten different churches of Boston. Beacon Hill, the prison, the Court House as well as a gun magazine and three batteries where 120 cannons were placed to protect the city.
