This fine pair of globes have a classic. Clean, mid century modern design. They have a very elegant look and are really quite beautiful. Made in West Germany by Columbus, one of the world's best globe makers for over 100 years. They were established in 1909 in Berlin. Each bookend measures approx 6 1/2 inches tall, 5 3/8 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide. Teeny bit of edge wear on the wood bases. World globe has very. Very, light age related toning on the globe. Both have some light age related toning on the aluminum. I have not cleaned them in any way. The globes themselves are in very good condition with no lifting, etc. The wood bases do not match up exactly as you can see in one of the photos. Of course. VERY RARE ANTIQUE c. 1900s WORLD GLOBE w/ TRAVEL ROUTE VERY RARE ANTIQUE circa 1900s WORLD GLOBE w/TRAVEL ROUTES- a 6" table globe on its original bent wire stand. Shows various travel routes. What is particularly interesting about this globe is that it shows the route of Miss Elizabeth Bisland. Who raced around the globe against Nellie Bly in 1889-1890, so it's likely this globe was produced shortly after that race. The globe does have some surface toning and soiling, as should be expected, but fairly good overall. Believed to be a fairly rare globe, as we can find no other examples currently being offered for sale. Stands just under 9 inches. Antique World Globe dated 1940 -ish German Fackel Erdglobus brand 12 inch earth
This globe is from my personal collection that I personally purchased in Germany. The brand is Fackel-Erdglobus and all the names on this globe are in German. The globes stands on a brown wood base that is 5 inches square. Total height of the globe is 12 inches Based on the names of countries and political boundaries. The globe is from the 1940-ish. There is some discoloration which I am pointing to in one picture. There is also a one inch tear through Turkey but it has been repaired.

LARGE VINTAGE ANTIQUE DECO 1930s PHILIPS WORLD TRAVEL GLOBE / MAP - OFFICE STUDY
ORIGINAL 1930’s 12” PHILIPS TRAVEL GLOBE This is a lovely 1930’s Philips globe in fantastic condition for its age. The globe has interesting geographical differences to today’s world. Thailand is still shown as Siam(name changed 1939) USSR is still shown as one country, Zimbabwe is still shown in its former name Rhodesia and so on. The globe is generally in good order. There is some wear to the print in places and the brass on the stand is worn. There is also a hairline crack in the base but this isnt overly noticable or detrimental to the peice. The globe with stand measures: 42cm high The globe would be a great present for someone and would look fantastic in an office or study.
