I have dated it to c1948. It is possible it was made for a light fitment to go inside as the hole at the base is certainly large enough to allow this and I think would look fabulous. I bought this from an estate where the gentleman had a wooden base made for it. The base in itself is great as well as it has been delicately carved into the pedestal to fit the globe. The pedestal base is floor standing and measures 24 inches tall. It is made by Rand McNally in Chicago. USA and is 16" in diameter. 1" on the globe = 500 miles.The hole in the bottom has a diameter of 5.5 inches. There are a couple of nibbles as you can see in the covering of the globe but the glass is whole with no chips cracks or repairs. Please note that we insure all of items. 1.We accept PayPal. Set of three 6" Replogle world globes. Antique to modern. The antique and blue world globes are vintage 1960's- all metal bases and spheres. The black and silver globe is a modern acrylic Replogle Spectrum globe on a vintage metal base to match the others. The black globe is in very good condition, the base has a scuff and a slightly loose bottom pin that does not affect anything as the globe holds firm and spins freely. The blue globe has a few very minor spots on the sphere and base, no dents. The antique Revere globe has a hardly perceptible dent south of Madagascar and one southeast of Tuamotu Arch, a few minor scuffs and spots on the sphere and base, and a circular scratch around Antarctica. Antique Vintage 12 inch Terrestrial globe NO BASE Johnston Nystrom Suspension?
Here's a great old paper covered terrestrial globe. Made by W& AK Johnston and distributed by A J Nystrom. Probably dates from the 1910s through 1920's. Measures 12" wide(globe only without ring) and has a cast iron ring. The globe is paper over tin. The condition is good for the age with one 2" dent on South America(will add photo) and some paper finish wear. No damage to cast iron. This was probably a table or floor model globe but is missing its cast iron base. A great opportunity to bring 2 lost pieces together and create a very valuable globe. A fellow Ebayer questioned whether this was actually a"suspension globe" that was designed to be suspended by a pulley and rope- another rare piece. No international shipping.

This is a beautiful 1892 Standard Trenton parlor oil lamp. The lamp is cast bronze and smelter metal with a marble column and solid brass burner and font. The globe is a hand painted floral on the front and back. There is a small brass brazing repair of the font holder and the wick riser has been rebuilt. It has a slower rise of the wick when the knob is turned. Should last forever. All glass and brass is free of dents and cracks and a new wick is supplied. All glass and marble is in perfect condition. Measurements: 31" tall with a 7" x 7" base, 9" original globe.

Vintage Antique Early 1900's World Globe Lions Paw Copper Flashed Base
For your consideration is a great looking world globe dating to the early 1900's. St. Petersburg is still shown so the globe dates to at least 1914. Possibly earlier. The globe is in nice useable/restorable condition. The paper seams are all flat having only the two issues shown in the last two photos. A small 1/2" scuff on the first photo and a perfectly round indentation(from the bottom base) There is discoloration present which is typical of these early globes. ABEL KLINGER" The bank was made in Nuremberg between the 1850's and 1860's and is made of 12 paper panels over tin. The bank measures app. 9 3/4" in circumference or 3" in diameter. The bank retains nearly all of the original paper map covering in very nice condition. There are a couple of small pieces missing but the losses are really minor. My best guess at the age of manufacture is between 1935-1937. My knowledge of the old globes is limited so PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR MORE SPECIFIC PICTURES OR QUESTIONS. The Japanese emblem seems to borrow from the"spread wing" of the Nazi eagle. Implying the alliance between Japan and Germany just prior to WW11. IRAN is on map. Renamed from Persia in 1935. SIAM is on map. Renamed Thailand in 1937. BURMA is separated from INDIA, which also happened in 1937. Globe is in Incredible condition. Wood base with no mark has peeling laminate. Paper over tin globe. All intact with very little peeling, 90% located at the bottom of the globe(pic 1) Only 6" high and approx. 4 1/2" wide. Thank you.

Recently purchase in Holland and imported to our Atlanta antique furniture store. It is a hard to find piece! This globe is decorated with many wonderful and unique decorations. Although we feel the piece was made around 1960 the map and other decorations appear to be copies of much older works of art. There are also paintings inside the globe. On the rim, ... moreand on the stretcher base. The entire piece is made from walnut wood and is quite sturdy. The four legs sit on casters for easier moving. The top and bottom halves of the globe do spin like a normal globe would. The interior of the globe is fitted as a bar. It comes with a small ice bucket that has tongs inside. The rest of the area is fitted and shaped to house bottles and glasses. The interior space is about 18.5″ in diameter. Overall his antique globe bar is in very good condition. It has three spots where the paint has been worn/chipped and all three of these spots are shown in the photos. Otherwise the piece is in great condition. Sturdy and ready for everyday use. With this being such a unique and interesting piece I am sure it will not stick around long! This antique globe bar is a unique and wonderful piece! The interior is fitted and has an ice bucket and tongs. The interior of the upper half of the globe is very nicely painted. The stretcher base is likewise well decorated. From an estate sale. A 5-section barriester bookcase with base and top. The top 3 sections are regular bookcases, the bottom two sections each have 3 file cabinet drawers. Patent date 1917. Overall outside dimensions are 41.5" wide, 17" deep, and 79" tall. The inside dimensions of the bookcase shelf: 15.5" between the back and the back face of the door, 40" wide, and 10" tall to the bottom of the door when it is rolled up- that is, the*useful* height that you could fit a book in. I did some google research and couldn't find a standard size the corresponded to these dimensions. So they may be a custom unit. Very deep, but pretty short. There's nail holes on the fronts of the file drawers, looks like they used to have handles, and probably also brass frames for putting a label in. So you might want to replace ... morethose. Antique globe terrestrial by J Forest Paris late 1800's on brass & wooden stand
I have for sale an original terrestrial globe by makers J Forest of 17 Rue de Buci Paris dating from the latter part of the 19th Century. It is in pretty good condition a couple of flaws as detailed above but this is a item which was meant to be used. So therefore some sign of use is to be expected.
