This weathervane has all the character and patina a collector could want. Fortunately it has some old west style bullet holes that gives it an even more unique appearance. The ruby red globe is without cracks or repairs. It is stamped A10B. I have no idea what that means. This piece will be packed with extreme care and sent to the new owner without any shipping or handling charges if it goes to someone in the contiguous United States. Vintage White Glass Exit Light Globe Antique Complete Business Lamp. Works
I'm an electrician and took this light out of an apartment building during renovation and updating. It is beautiful and functioning. Wires are not brittle. I hung one in my house by the back door without rewiring it because I felt from my examaniation the wires were safe. I would say the same about this one except for the liability that goes with that statement. Would I hang it in my house?Without a doubt. There is paint on the metal base the globe fits into. Sounds like paint remover time huh? The screws that tighten to hold the globe are rusty but functional. Wire brush should clean them up with ease. Ask questions now cause its too late after you buy. I think you will be hard pressed to find another in as fine shape as this one.

I am pleased to offer a very fine antique miniature bookcase similiar to the Globe Wernicke bookcases! The bookcase has three shelves with brass knobs to pull the shelves out and upwards and are covered with thin sheets of selenit on the backsides- a mineral often used instead of glass. The condition is very good with signs of age and handling. The width measures a bit over 6" the height measures 9 1/8" and the depth measures 2 1/4" on the bottom and 1 7/8" on the top.

Rare 100+yr Antique Print Ambassadors SCIENCE QUADRANDT GLOBE LUTE SKULL SEXTANT
RARE ANTIQUE ART PRINT circa 1912 AMBASSADORS Among the clues to the figures' explorative associations are two globes. A sextant, an astrolabe, and the various textiles: the floor mosaic, based on a design extant in Westminster Abbey(the Cosmati pavement, before the High Altar) and the cloth on the upper shelf, which is most notably oriental. The choice for the inclusion of the two figures can furthermore be seen as symbolic. The figure on the left is in secular attire while the figure on the right is dressed in protestant religious garb. They are flanking the table, which displays open books, symbols of religious knowledge and even a symbolic link to the Virgin, is therefore believed to be symbolic of a unification of capitalism and the Church. The most notable and famous of Holbein's symbols in the work. However, is the skewed skull ... morewhich is placed in the bottom centre of the composition. The skull, rendered in anamorphic perspective, another invention of the Early Renaissance, is meant to be nearly subliminal as the viewer must approach the painting nearly from the side to see the form morph into a completely accurate rendering of a human skull. While the skull is evidently intended as a vanitas or memento mori, it is unclear why Holbein gave it such prominence in this painting. One possibility is that this painting represents three levels: the heavens(as portrayed by the astrolabe and other objects on the upper shelf) the living world(as evidenced by books and a musical instrument on the lower shelf) and death(signified by the skull) It has also been hypothesized that the painting is meant to hang in a stairwell, so that a person walking up the stairs from the painting's right would be startled by the appearance of the skull. A further possibility is that Holbein simply wished to show off his ability with the technique in order to secure future commissions. 1940's Antique Life Size Biba Girl Art Deco Floor Lamp - Vaseline Glass Globe!
An amazing piece that we truly regret listing for sale. This is a truly unique antique art deco floor lamp which will make a fantastic cornerstone centerpiece for any highly styled room decor! It is a HUGE Biba Girl floor lamp! This piece is almost 80" tall(from the bottom of the floor base to the top of the vaseline glass globe) The Biba girl herself stands about 74" to the top of her nose/chin from the floor. The depth of the piece is about 45" from the front of the globe to the back of her head. She stands on a double tier hexagonal base- the bottom tier of the base is a 24" wide hexagon and the tier she stands on is a 16" hexagon. She is molded of early poly carbonate and is finished in black paint. The hexagon base is wooden. The lamp is a 10" diameter swirled vaseline glass globe. We have owned this piece ... morefor several years. We purchased it from an antique dealer who indicated it originally served as a 1940's lobby decor piece in a San Francisco Hotel. He did not know the name of the hotel. Condition is very good- lamp operates perfectly. Only some age-related cracking in the black finish paint on Biba. Antique ceiling light with opaque white glass sconce or globe
Antique ceiling light fixture with opaque white glass sconce or globe. The base is brass colored and has wear and scratches from age that give it character. The sconce or shade has that pale color and nice shape. the glass does not have any chips or cracks that I could see. But there are some imperfections from manufacturing. Some thin black lines that resemble cracks but do not go through the glass, interesting I would say. The base is 6" across and 3 3/4" tall it does not have the fixture or socket inside, I have been told that it will fit over an existing fixture. The glass is 6" tall, the open end is 8 1/2" across and it has a 2" fitter. I have described the items condition to the best of my knowledge. Antique Victorian Vapo Cresolene Lamp Vaporizer Milk Glass Globe w Medicine Tray
Up for auction is this beautiful antique lamp that was made and sold in the Victorian era. It was made by Vapo-Cresolene Co. of New York. This lamp was used for Whooping Cough. Spasmodic Croup, Nasal Catarrh, Colds, Bronchitis, Coughs, Sore Throat, Broncho Pneumonia, Asthma and other ailments. You would light the miniature oil lamp put it on the stand and put Vapo-Cresolene in the medicine tray to vaporize the room. The gilded stand is a very ornate metal and the top of the stand above the lamp is the vaporizing cup that would hold the medicine. The top plate has Patented Aug. 4 85– Aug. 8 88, these are 1800 dates. The miniature oil lamp comes complete with a white milk glass globe that is in very good condition. The burner moves freely and it holds the original wick. The medicine tray which is usually lost comes with the lamp. The little ... morelamp measures 6 ¼” tall. The glass base along with the milk glass shade measures 4” tall and on the glass base it has VAPO CRESOLENE USE KEROSENE. On the bottom of the base it has Made in U. S. A. along with the number 1. The copper-plates for these gores were originally engraved in 1688 by Coronelli f or the construction of the large 42in(110cm) terrestrial globe. Such was the admiration of these Globes that in 1688 Coronelli began the engraving& publication of Globe Gores for the construction of two 110cm(42in) terrestrial& celestial globes. TELLURIUM WORLD GLOBE ANTIQUE PLANETARIUM MANUFACTURED BY THE MIDEND OF THE 19TH CENTURY.PLANETARIUM(SOMETIMES ALSO KNOWN AS A TELLURIUM) IS A MODEL THAT SHOWS THE MOVEMENT OF THE EARTH AROUND THE SUN. WHEN TURNING THE HANDLE. INTICRATE GEARING ALLOWS THE EARTH TO ROTATE AROUND THE SUN AND TO SPIN ARROUND THE AXIS. THE SUN IS REPRESENTED BY A CANDLE. THE INSTRUMENT STANDS ON A CAST IRON BASE.
