Even better is that it is half"matte" glass(frosted or sandblasted) and half is ribbed glass. The ribbed panels catch the light and make this piece display as if it were Irridescent! Antique/Vintage National Lightening Rod and Purple Globe
This is 5'6" tall. With the weathering from atop of a Wisconsin farm barn, this piece is still in nice shape to use or display. The Purple Globe is raised embossed with National company on it. This is a very old antique snow globe of the Washington Monument in Washington DC. It is made of glass with a heavy enamel ceramic base. The decal on the side appears to be from sometime around the 1930s or earlier. I cannot find a similar one anywhere online. The snow inside is a light brown color and is pretty foggy. The glass is in good condition and it is securely attached to its base. This snow globe would make an excellent addition to a collection! Don’t worry! I have to offer a HUGE Custard Shade for a lamp or hurricane lamp. Has its original brass top fitting. And a brass fitting around it's circumference. Brass needs polished. Has a gold pin strip that is not intact on the lower ring. It is in good shape. Measures: 10" Tall, 11" Wide. Top opening 3 3/4" with Brass cover, has some minor chipping and roughness. Antique 1914 - 1916 Dietz Kerosene Blizzard No.2 Lantern with Red Glass Globe
Here is an antique. Original Dietz Blizzard, No.2, kerosene lantern, patent dates from 1898 to 1916. The solid ruby red glass globe is dated 3-10-16. The lantern measures 15" high, the globe is 6-1/2" The lantern is in excellent, little used condition. The glass globe is not cracked or chipped. It does have some molding pressed lines in from when it was made, no harm! I've been told many homes and farms did not get electricity until the 1950s and everyone had a couple of lanterns with clear glass globes for lighting. They also had a lantern with a red globe and if you saw it going, that meant they needed help! Makes sense to me.

It is a Globe Wernicke four drawer library card file cabinet. It is made out of quarter sawn oak and appears to have the original finish. The cabinet is 9 1/4" tall x 17" deep x 14" wide. It weighs almost 30 pounds. Overall. The cabinet appears to be in very good used condition. One of the drawer fronts has been repaired. The cabinet has a slight front to back wobble. Antique Red Globe Barn Lantern Glass Candy Container Fairing for "Robert"
Wonderful little antique figural candy container! Probably from a fair. As a child's name was engraved on the piece. It reads"Robert" on one side, and engraved on the other side it says"Sweet" It has a few very teensy chips on the edges. At the top there are two hairlines; both in the same spot just outside where the holes are, and a couple more again in the same spots on the sides, but at the bottom where the side pieces come to a corner. None of them go all the way through. They are all in stress areas where flaws tend to happen, and I can't help but think that they occured during the manufacturing of what was then a very cheap item. Anyway, you barely notice them(I only just found them now, while inspecting the piece for listing) The tin cap on the bottom is clean and nice, and it screws easily onto the very ... moreclean and smooth glass threads at the bottom. As can be seen in the photos there is a considerable amount of surface rust freckling and some staining which I am unsure of how, or if, it can be removed. The cord has a heavy iron weight on it which allows you to easily set the height of the globe to any desired position. The fitter has an on/off switch. A4807, with the older Globe mark: 10 dinner plates. 10&1/4 inches; 10 luncheon plates. 9 inches; 10 salad plates. 7&3/4 inches; 10 bread&butter plates. 6&3/4 inches; 10 sauce/dessert bowls 5&1/4 inches across top. 7 cups and saucers(the large getleman's cup) 8 boullions and saucers. 7 serving pieces: large platter 181/2 by 143/4 inches. Covered vegetable, bowl with wide rim(fruit bowl? bowl on pedestal with handles. Gravy plus liner. This is an excellent starter set for someone. I will NOT break it up. The platter has been professionally repaired. As has the bottom of the fruit bowl(the repairs are guaranteed, and, the pieces are safe for serving food) 2 B&B plates as well as 3 saucers have the later laurel stamp, all other pieces have the Globe mark. Very good to excellent ... morecondition. Note the red vermilion edges. The set weighs 65 lbs. I pay for the packing materials; the buyer pays for the shipping and insurance. For those of you not familiar with this bone china: it is hand painted. Then a lacquer is applied intermittantly to the floral swags- giving it a wonderful sheen.
