The hose is a little bit newer but appears to be at least a century old. There are not too many of these old hookahs out on the market in this great of condition! It is almost complete and would only require minimal parts to be operational. There is a slight dent on the bottom from which there is a slight leak so this would need to be sealed prior to operation. The black inscribed tablet is set in a beautifully carved gilded wooded frame and pedestal. The reverse of the tablet is also inscribed. This decorative tablet is part of a collection acquired by a Lutheran missionary stationed in India in the late 19th century. He brought his collection to the United State prior to the start of World War I. In overall very good condition with some loss to the gilding and some scratches and knicks to the wood and lacquer consistent with age and use but nothing untoward. It measures 5 3/4" in height and the pedestal had a width and thickness of 2 9/16" and 1 3/16" This tablet will make a fine antique decorative accessory in your home.
