The doors are made of solid pine and feature 4 recessed panels with no molding(shaker style) When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Height: The heights of both doors were unevenly cut. Most likely to compensate for a settling foundation or a warped floor. We could evenly cut either/both door, or adjust either/both to fit your opening-email us for a quote. Hardware: Aside for a mortise lock. Neither door is equipped with any hardware.
