A strong blacksmith made pair of hinges, with visible signs of manufacture where beaten& formed, with a wonderful chamfer perimeter edge& a good thickness to the metal. They are in full working order. With the hinge joints moving freely. please see pics) Equally good for restoring period furniture or using in a different application. I believe that they are mid to late 17th Century in date, but possibly earlier. This is an attractive small oak box. Possibly 18th or 19th century. It has chip carved decoration around the lid& front edges and looks like a small coffer. We offer this 19th century navigational tool used to plot direction on a nautical chart. The ebony parallel rulers have nickel-plated hinges and buttons with the outer edges being beveled. Parallel rulers are a drafting instrument used by navigators to draw parallel lines on charts. The two straight edges are joined by links which allow them to move closer or further away while remaining parallel to each other. No markings of any kind. In good condition with a slight chip along one edge. Measures 12 inches in length; each ruler is 11/16 inch wide. A terrific collectable for maritime history buffs. Antique Vintage Barn Door Hinges Lot of 5
Lot of 5 old barn hinges. They are pitted. Rusty and a little bent, can be straightened easily. Hinges all move free. Size is- 6.5 wide x 2 inches on the small end and 9.5 long on the other. Total size is 12.5 long, opened. The long end has a taper to them so they do not mount perfectly flat.

Available for your consideration is an Antique Dovetail Wood- Wooden Box with handle From a local estate sale and offered AS FOUND. I would assume that this box once held some type of tool(like maybe a surveyer's tool) but I do not know for sure. It is in overall good condition for age, and is structurally sound, but has some dirtiness and staining from use. There is also some surface scratching and a couple of surface holes on one side(they do not go all the way through the wood) Also. Inside of the box, on one side is remains from what must have been some type of a lining. see images) It can be pulled off by hand. But I leave that, and the cleaning of the box. To you. Good old vintage cast iron is stronger and harder than the new soft reproduction stuff they make in modern hinges. Likely cast in the last 1880's to the early 1900's. These have a nice sharp. Clean and fancy casting. The pattern is also on the back of the hinge and shows when the door is closed. The hinges were sprayed with clear acrylic lacquer finish. This clear finish has scratch and water resistance. They are 5" long from steeple tip to steeple tip and they are 3" wide. The pins are loose and removable. The best I came up with was it was taken out of the house when it was remodeled in the early 70's. and stored in the barn. The original house was over 100 years old, I don't think the door is that old. I will have about 20 more old doors from the same loft listed eventually. All I did with the door was clean it off with some Murphy's soap, nothing else. The lock is marked Yale on the jam side of the door. If your looking at this then you probably know more about it than I do. So if you have questions please ask. The door is not perfect. It's old and has some character, there are a few scratches, dents etc. that I am sure can be restored with no problem by someone ... morethat knows what they are doing. I did have someone that works with wood look at the door and he told me it was quarter sawn Oak. Iron strap DOOR HINGES Antique. Architectural& Garden, Hardware, other A handsome pair of VINTAGE IRON STRAP DOOR HINGES… They are nicely rusted. The ends of the hinge pins still retain the red paint from the barn or shed that they were last used on. The HINGES are 10” in total length. WITH is 5 ¼” x 2 ¾” ATTACHED PLATES, they are 1/8” thick and the 2 weight 4lbs. I don’t believe the hinge pin can be removed and I think they will need a ½” head screw. Though I like the sound of the squeak they make, they need some oiling. The rust can be removed and I thought I’d leave that to their new owner, I like it. I would be happy to answer any questions.

PAIR of Antique Bronze Door Strap Hinges 6" by 10" 9 Hole
These hinges are in great condition with moderate signs of use. They are actually 5 7/8" by 9 7/8" and are cast bronze. They have free movement and swing open 180 degrees. The only mark I see is a readable 10 on the back of one. There is some extra metal on one of them that never got trimmed. I'll leave that and the cleaning to you. I notice the hinge pins have little keeper pins to keep them from falling out. All the edges are beveled and I think these would display very nicely. Please email any questions. Thank you.

Antique wrought iron blanket chest hinges
Antique wrought iron strap/butterfly blanket chest hinges. The hinges are most likely 18th century. Thje strap element is 12-14" long and has a nice spear point. The butterfly element is about 4" long. There is about 1" between the pin and the inside of the butterfly element. That portion would fit on the top of the backboard of the blanket chest. A few years ago these hinges would have been priced above $150 Ask questions of interested. Short period rose head nails are available for $3 each. I also have a few blanket chest locks. Watch for my other early iron items.
