These huge teak château doors dating to around 1850c were recently removed from the French Embassy in Jakarta when new security doors were added. The front boasts a grand 19th Century appearance which alone is impressive enough. However when you turn to see the back of the doors you find and incredible pair of life size paintings of what is believed to be a King and Queen. The detail is just remarkable. And apparently painted in real gold although this has not been tested. Large antique doors without the interesting background and without the stunning artwork alone are rather sort after. This is an antique mortise lock set that works. One side has a lever and the other side has a knob. The lock was manufactured by the Norwalk Lock Company of Norwalk Connecticut. Each door is made of solid white pine and has 10 windows. Unfortunately. 6 glass lites are broken, so only 14 out of the 20 glass lites are intact. We could either custom cut new pieces from our collection of old glass. Or we could order a new glass lites(i.e. beveled, tempered, leaded, stained, etc. and install them- email us for a quote. Keep in mind the doors were installed inside the house as interior doors. But they could still be used as entry doors. Hardware: The doors are currently not equipped with any hardware. However.
