6 Vintage Wood columns /pillars
Up for your viewing and bidding pleasure are 6 Vintage Wood columns/pillars. These once belonged to my grandfather that he hand turned himself for his dream home he was building in the early 1960s. They are made in 2 sections at the family lumber yard and will need squaring up on both ends because the person that bought the home did not want the posts and in removing them butchered the ends a bit. There are also 2 smaller pillars. The long ones are about 87 1/2 inches long and the short ones are about 59 1/2 inches long. These are a no ship item for pick up only. Thanks for looking

Antique Mantel with Original Beveled Mirror, Columns, Egg&Dart-Medium Wood Tone
For sale is this lovely antique mantel with beveled mirror which came out of a house in Ashe County. NC that was 100+ years old. The mantel has a column on either side of the opening and the mirror is trimmed with egg and dart moulding. There is also a decorative oval design on either side of the mirror and side. Dimensions are as follow: Opening- width 41 1/2" x length 41 1/2" overall: 60 1/4" width x 72 1/4" height. The mantel is completely refinished in a warm tone and boxed for immediate installation. The box is about 10 3/4" from back to front. The mirror is 39 1/2" width x 15 1/2" height. The mirror has an obvious scratch but no cracks or major damage and I believe it is the original mirror with no re-silvering. Some of the wood on the shelf needed extra repair and upon close inspection, the former ... moredamage can be detected. There is some damage to the base where the columns are mounted that caused some of the surrounding wood to be missing. In the process of refinishing, that has been reshaped to be rounded on the corners. The decorations are in excellent condition and while it is simple, the ovals and egg/dart decorations add just the right touch. Thanks so much for looking! Nice lot of(2) hand carved wood trim pieces from a late 1800's shelf we took apart. These are great to cut to size and fit into pre existing shelves or furniture. Easy to trim and fit. All the wood looks to be hand done and no 2 pieces. Birds or flowers are alike. I am not good with my woods so I am not sure what type it is, its very dark. The humming birds are really nicely done as are all the flowers. Someone really put a lot of time into this trim. They are stunning to say the least. There are twisted columns on either side of the picture. And a rounded top with pointed gothic crest above There is a lot of chipping damage to this crest: the right side is. Chipped off and a bit of the left margin. There is also some chipping to the paint at the base on the left. This model is made to hang. It will not stand without a shim behind. If you are a custom fireplace mantel builder you may want to consider this salvaged pair of columns. They are finely carved hardwood(possibly mahogany) I mention there are some scratches and dents but these are not serious blemishes. Designers may also consider columns such as these to be repurposed creatively. They are quite heavy and I offer free shipping so please consider this in my pricing. Each column is 39" long and is 3" at the top and 4.5" at the bottom. This came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. These carved oak balusters are in excellent condition: no major cracks. Repairs or issues. They have been used and show a few chips. Bumps, rubs and indications of age and experience. These are both flat on one side and were mounted against a flat surface: they are not completely round. I have lightly washed these but have not sanded or extensively worked on them in any way. They have a small fraction of their original finish. Giving them a muted, shabby but chic color tone. Being oak, and in very nice shape, they would strip and refinish with a stain to tones from golden oak to as dark as you like. I believe that they are solid wood. They have been painted white but the paint is peeling. These are very large diameter columns. They measure about 27 inches around. They are 53 inches in height. They do need work. There is some splitting. One of the columns is missing a piece, I have the piece but it is not attached and is rotten. Here is a pair of big old solid poplar columns(not hollow) They are w eathered but in decent conditi on overall. The bottoms were hand cut so they may need planing. Though they do stand easily on their own. These columns are big and heavy, probably about 200 pounds each. They have a very slight taper, about 1" in diameter over 90" of length. These were turned from one tree trunk each, they are not laminated layers. There are c racks and checks on them. And the edge of one of the tops is missing(see pics) Some of the tips of t he radius details have broke ... moreoff. It looks like these were small pieces that were added to complete the curve(see pics) that have since fallen off. There is a little bit of paint on them but not much. These would make a great starting poi nt for a substantial pergola or archway. Or with a bit of repair these could be used on a porch once again. These are two short columns that were taken from a house and re-purposed as decorative wood pieces- would work great as candle holders by attaching a small metal disc to the top to hold a pillar candle. Antique Ingraham mantel shelf clock. C. 1910, 8 day time and half hour strike, in good condition. This clock was produced by Ingraham Co. Bristol CT. USA as it’s written on the paper dial. T he case is in good condition with only a couple of scratches on the top. There are not parts missing or cracks. Nice faux marble decoration on the front. I tested the clock for half day and it is running but could use cleaning. It comes with the pendulum but no key. Label on the back is in pretty good condition. Still readable.
