The Rabbit is approx. 11 3/4 inches high x approx. 12 inches ... morelong and approx 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inches thick at the mid section. The Rabbit has been affixed to a base that measures approx 4 x 8 1/2 inches. The Rabbit looks to have been exposed to the elements of the outdoors as it has some rust on the feet and legs. Looks like someone used a rust stopping black paint to preserve it. The Rabbit is very solid and could easily be reapplied to a Weathervane if someone chose to do so. I cannot find any makers marks on it anywhere. I believe it is pretty old and is still very desirable. Postage will be $12.00 due to the size of box needed to ship it safely.

AAFA 19th Century Full Bodied Copper and Iron "Ethan Allen" Horse Weathervane
Full Bodied Running Horse Weathervane This is a copper molded full bodied"Ethan Allen" weathervane with a cast iron head. The surface is wonderful- a vibrant chrome yellow paint which was the sizing. Or undercoat, for what once would have been a gilded surface- worn off by weather and exposure. Areas of verdigris show through, making the overall effect interesting and beautiful. Ethan Allen was a champion Morgan horse trotter. Renowned in the Racing Hall of Fame, and a horse that you see in many Currier and Ives prints. This and many other vanes of the late 1800's were derived from the Currier and Ives images. The relatively small size of this one makes it special- 30" from the tip of the tail to the foremost leg. 17 1/2" from the ear to the cross piece, a perfect size for display. It appears that this vane. Like many ... moreof its era, was shot at. Pictures 8,9,11 show what look to be filled bullet holes- I believe these repairs were done a long time ago, judging from the verdigris on and around them. There are some intermmitant seam separations on the back(picture 3) belly(picture 6) and chest(picture 5) and minor denting. The iron head appears to have been smoothed due to inevitable rust with some kind of filler- hard to tell- with some in-painting. Overall the weathervane is in good shape. And there are no holes or cracks in the metal that I can see. Antique Bronze Weathervane Direction Arrows Nice Patina Finish
Large Antique Weather Vane Directions From an old estate. These are bronze direction pieces that would go on the pole beneath the figure. There are two pieces that make the direction letters. Each piece extends from the center piece and has the direction letter at the ends- N S E& W. The arms extend 9" from the center. And they are each 3.25" tall. The direction letters are made of a heavy bronze(magnet does not stick) and have a weathered aged finish. The North-South piece is slightly thicker metal but the pieces fit well together and are the same size. There are screws on both center pieces to tighten the arms to the weathervane pole. This is a medium sized pig on a heavy brass front. The total length is about 22 inches. The pig measures 11 inches from the tip of its nose to the tip of the tail and it is about 6 inches tall. Any medium size animal lightning rod weathervane is rare for the simple reason that you either purchased the cheapest(small) or the best(large) so no one ever used the medium size. This pig is all original but the two anchor legs have been re-inforced and the pig has been repainted. Hollow zinc body. No reserve so have fun. As you never see this item offered for sale. It looks quite old and it looks like it may have been buried at some point. For some reason the end opposite the point is not nearly as pitted as the rest of the piece. Nice vintage copper squirrel weathervane. There are a couple of small splits at the sodder seams near the bottom of the weathervane. The vane itself is approx. 23" h x 21" w. The bottom bar is 23" long and the stem is 3" Dent on tail and slight indentation to sides. It is a hollow body. There is some remnants of lacquer and the vane has started to oxidize. It has a beautiful aged patina with much of the original gold wash finish intact. It is molded tin construction and measures 14 ½” long and 10 ½” tall. The seam is in excellent condition with no separations. There are no bullet holes. It is a true survivor! I have shown as much in pictures as possible. Vintage Shinn Weathervane Antique Lightning Rod Ball Cobalt Blue Old
This is a really nice full set of cobalt blue lightning rod ball. Pendants and pendant hanger. The 4 1/2" ball is marked Shinn Systems but not the Pendants. The hanger is included in this sale along with the 4 pendants and the round ball but not the rod itself. The whole set seem to be in very good original condition with no cracks or chips that are noticeable. The ball and pendants have a lot of imperfections in the glass and the pendants are pleated in shape. The 4-1/2' ball has on imperfection by one of the caps looks like a very small chip or mold issue and very small also, the 4- 1/2" ball holes are not perfectly centered in the ball. Vintage gold gilt full bodied American eagle weathervane. The eagle is standing on a ball and has wings in full spread. The metal beneath is either copper or zinc. There are two dents; one on the ball and one near the tail. It has very nice detail and form. It is inscribed under the tail: John L. Riddle gift to D.H. Caldwell. Year of the great blizzard Feb. 7, 1978. The piece measures 23" tall, 25" wide and 19" deep. The surface finish is still in nice condition. 19th century running horse weathervane attributed to J.W. Fiske
I am pleased to offer this estate fresh full bodied copper running horse weathervane. Attributed to J.W. Fiske(New York City. 1870-1893) This vane is a pristine example and displays beautiful form and surface. Extremely nice natural verdigris surface from exposure to the elements and still showing some remnants of yellow sizing/gilt. Please see photos and condition report. This is a remarkable find. A similar vane is currently listed for $4999.99 on ebay, and another comparable sold at auction for $4250 + 15% buyers premium this past July(same size, same design, worse patina than mine.
