Colorful. Unique, Chinese glazed ceramic/ earthenware garden seat. The octagonal seat is pierced with linked coins on the back of a caparisoned blue elephant raised on an oval plinth. Overall good condition for it's age with some crazing and cracking to parts of glaze. Some glaze has worn off around the edge of wear. Measures 23.5" tall and weighs 56 lbs. We got these at an Estate Sale, but the exact age is not known. Georges Briard(1917 July 30, 2005 New York) was an American award-winning designer in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He is most well known for his signature dishware and glassware, everything from cups and plates to gold plated serving dishes. White spots, and shadows. First, is(1) 16 1/2" square serving tray in the Persian Garden pattern- top is smooth and bottom is textured with gold flowers all over- perfect condition- it is signed at the edge; georges Briard. Second, is(1) rectangular two pocket tray/ relish server in the Persian Garden design- has very little minor gold wear- measures approx. 14 1/2" long by 8 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" deep- signed in a corner georges Briard. Up for auction is this vintage pink depression footed covered powder jar. It was made by the U.S. Glass Company/ Tiffin in 1924. And is in the FLower Garden with Butterflies pattern. If you look carefully you can find one whole butterfly on the underside of the jar and half of another. The jar stands 6 1/2" high, and 4 3/4" across the rim. The Hanson-Nissen McCoy Collector's Reference book say this jardinière is from the 1920's. It is in a beautiful majolica style glaze with Rich Greens with Brown Highlights and a Green Interior. Are included. Unmarked. But definitely Shawnee Pottery. Very Good Vintage Condition- no chips. Cracks or crazing, although. One cart has a pre-firing flaw. Tiny piece of a corner is missing. From a local estate. Here is a very nice large Stangl serving bowl in the"Country Garden" pattern. Measures over 12" across and stands over 3.5" deep. Marked on the bottom"Stangl Pottery Trenton NJ" and the pattern name and the number VIII. Shows normal wear from use, including scratches and marks on the inside bottom, around the outside, and on the bottom. Vintage Aynsley Cottage Garden Lidded Powder dish Trinket Jar England
Up for auction is this lidded Aynsley dish. It is in the"Cottage Garden" pattern which is so bright and cheerful with the flowers and butterflies. I don't know what this piece is used for. But it could be used for many things. This dish is 2 1/2 inches tall without lid and 4 inches tall with lid. It is 4 1/4 inches wide. It has the Aynsley mark on the bottom of the dish and the original foil sticker on the lid. There was a sticker on the inside of the lid, but it is almost gone(that is the spot you see in the pictures) There are no cracks or chips on this piece. It is in awesome condition.
