Markel Art Deco Craftsman Peach 30s Glass Slip shade 3 light Fixture Chandelier
There are many choices in lighting. What is great about these Antique light fixtures is the quality that was in mind when made. This is a Markel made in the USA from the 30s. It has been cleaned and color matched with a nice antique gold. The frame is a medium weight solid mixed metal that will last another 100 years and the sockets have been cleaned and rewired. They are copper and much better quality than what is out there to replace them. The chain may have some paint nicks. But nothing noticeable and for description purposes only. The fixture hang is 35 1/2 inches with the finial and we can shorten that for you if requested. There is plenty of lead wire to add chain also. The fixture body is 15 1/2 inches and the fixture without the shades is 12 inch width when the shades are installed the width is 14 inches. The glass is in great condition ... morefor the age, a peach with a pearl. There is some paint wear on some if the edges of the glass and this is hidden when installed. 1930'S ART DECO WALL SCONCES, GLASS SLIP SHADE STYLE VINTAGE LIGHTING FOR BATHRO
Up for auction is a gorgeous and rare set of 2 original vintage working wall sconces from the Art Deco period. According to our research. This series of Art Deco lights was made by Lincoln Mfg of Detroit, MI, circa 1935, a key year in the height of the slip shade lighting era. Lincoln named this the" Fleurette Group" These sconce comes with pale pink frosted glass slip shades featuring a floral design. They set is in excellent condition and has a gold color to the sconce with pale pinkish glass slip shade. Sconce could be fairly easily polished to silver. These lights have been re-wired and are able to be plugged individually into a 110 wall outlet. We always recommend that you have an electrician verify the safety on items like this, though, as we did NOT do the re-wiring. But we have used them and they work fine. Because this ... moreset was wired to plug into outlets, they are ready to hang and would also be great for use as theatre props if needed. They could fairly easily be re-wired to hardwire directly wall wiring also. The pictures should serve as your condition information. Up for sale is this vintage ART DECO STYLE SLIP SHADE CEILING FIXTURE that was removed from the MAX FACTOR HOLLYWOOD STORE when it closed in the early 1990s and stored ever since. The store was in Hollywood for many decades and all the major stars went there to get their make up done. They actually had separate rooms for brunettes. Red heads and blonds! I have two fixtures available and am auctioning them this week. The store was remodeled a couple times over the years, but always kept the art deco style. These fixtures seem like they are probably from the 1960s remodel. The wiring is modern and the metal is brass-like. The slip covers, as you can see are a wonderful frosted glass in an art deco pattern. All indications are that they are working, although I could not test them. Stunning Art Deco 1930's Modernistic Sconce Wall Lamp w Slip Shade - S.F.Estate
Here is a stunning Art Deco 1930's modernistic metal wall sconce lamp with amber slip shade from San Francisco Estate. Circa 1930's. It is exquisite! This wonderful deco sconce has a fan shape with a cool geometric and deco style. It is made of some kind of"machine age" aluminum metal. And it marked"10560" in the back. The glass slip shade is made of amber satin glass, and it has a beautiful floral deco design. The overall measurement is 12" tall, 4-1/2" deep, and 6" wide. The glass shade alone measures 7" long, 5" wide, and 2-1/2" deep. The condition of the metal lamp is amazingly very good- no chips, breaks, or repairs- the electrical wires are still in the back, and the on/off switch works great. The condition of the glass slip shade is very good except it has a crack where it has ... morebeen repaired(see picture) and there are nicks on the edges which cannot be seen when on the lamp. Here is a pair of nice 1920's Williamson Beardslee 1920's art deco slip shade wall sconces. Model# 081. Great condition with the original glass shades. Original manufacturer's stickers still in the back on both sconces. Slip shades in good condition also. One chipped in the back on the part that slides into the lamp, so chip is not visible when attached to the lamp. Other shade has a minimal chip right on the top rim. Maybe 1/8 inch in size, only visible when looking up close and from the top. Wiring is the original cloth wiring and while it is probably working. 2 Bronze Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces by Midwest Lighting Company 1920's - 1930's
This is a beautiful pair of 2 art deco cast bronze sconces which I believe were manufactured by Midwest Lighting Co. circa 1920-30. They have a very nice warm coppery gold color to them. The sconces are slip shade in design but I do not have the shades themselves. The sconces have an abstract floral pattern to their design. Each sconce measures about 10 1/2" tall. And each is about 5 1/2" wide. The sconces are bronze and are quite heavy- about 1 1/2 pounds each. There is a bit of paint on the sides of each sconce. But this can be easily removed with fine steel wool. I removed some from one sconce and polished it up a bit and it came out very well. The sconces will need to be rewired and will need brackets to mount them to the wall. Beautiful pair art deco chrome sconces with opalescent slip shades. The chrome is in excellent condition. The shades have some flea bites around the edges but are otherwise undamaged. The wire and sockets look good but are untested. They have push button style switches both have a good sounding click. They would be an great pair for a bathroom. They can be fitted to a standard size junction box. Overall I consider them to be in very good condition. They measure approx. 7 1/4"tall X 3 7/8"wide x 3"depth. Antique VTG Art Deco Nouveau Metal Wall Sconce Light Slip Shade Style No Shade
Beautiful antique wall sconce for restoration. Made of either copper or bronze, I cannot tell for sure. Switch was made by Leviton, back of sconce only says design and mechanics have patent and USA, no maker name that I can see. It measures approx. 13" in length, and is 6 3/4" at widest point. Socket says 125 to 250 V. This would take a slip shade, which unfortunately was not with it when found. Opening at top that shade would go down into(widest part) is approx. 5 1/4" It has original patina, but where some of the patina has rubbed off I see a some color to the metal, looks copper. Up for sale is a completely signed R. Williamson/ Beardslee of Chicago deco fixture in beautiful condition. Finish was professionally conserved(no touch ups! The original sockets were cleaned and properly wired. As you can see there is only some chipping of the paint from the canopy dangling and hitting the center cone. Two of the shades have a small piece missing on the locking nubs with NO cracks. They still fill properly and are the only negatives. All are signed. It is wired and ready to hang. Set of 4 Mid Century Modern Sconces-Vintage MDM Slip Shade Wall Light - Progress
Available here is a set of four sconces. These sconces were probably produced in the 50s or 60s and feature a classic mid-century modern design. They were made by the Progress Manufacturing Co. The original tags are still intact on the back of the sconces. The slip shades rest inside the metal fixture. The curved glass shades have linear lines leading up to a white and gold checkered design on the top. Two of the shades have very small chips on the back lip of the shade. Please see pictures as the chips are very small and aren't noticeable when hung. The fixtures are made of brass and retain the original rotary switches. The wiring on all of these are good and the sconces work as they should. The metal fixtures are in very good condition. These even have the original mounting plates to help with the installation. The mounting plates are ... moremarked with the manufacturers name. Any wiring shown in the photos are there strictly to demonstrate the wiring works. All wiring would be hidden from view when properly hung inside your home. The glass shades measure 11.5" tall. They are 4.5" at the widest point and 1.75" in width at the smallest point. The glass shades are in very, very good condition with factory applied gloss finish to the interior glass and what appears to be the original off-white finish on the outer surface! The shades have not been cleaned, however, I can see that they are free from cracks and no fitter chips. Any black areas you see on the shades are dots of finish loss ~ not chips in the glass. Each sconce has its original electrical which is made up of 3 vintage porcelain sockets. Cloth wiring and each back plate has a different maker of on/off knob. They are interesting all by themselves! This a beautiful antique five-light Art Deco chandelier with original slip-in shades by Moe Bridges. Circa 1931, found in a house in downtown Nashville. Part of the Croydon series, this chandelier begins with a top finial that is ornamented with a leaf detail and swoops down to the body of the chandelier with polychrome crested bands. The silver plated body of the fixture features volute, foliate, and floral designs with silver column clusters between each slip shade. The original slipper shades display lattice work surrounding crested shields. The chandelier finishes with a complementary foliate embellished rounded base and a small acorn finial. The light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation.
