It is very old and does still have the brass attachments were it was connected to the piano(see pictures 2& 3. Bottom right and left) The pattern is so busy in its design that the few places I see any damage, are not noticed because of the fretwork. Please look at all the pictures for they are part of my description. Some of the damage is on the backside so it cant be seen. This is a lovely piece of ART that is very hard to find. I'found' this in my barn- hanging in the rafters were I was placing gable ... morepediments. I thought for the longest time I had this piece listed- but alas it was not. I bought this piece about 5 or 6 years ago. Has a great checkered design in the triangle pediment area- the green paint is creak. Nice crackled finish. The top of the peak is unpainted- it must have been covered as the green paint was NEVER applied to the piece. The bottom edge needs to be trimmed- it has some soft spots on it- I tried to capture this in the pictures. I would estimate about 1 to 1.5" needs to be trimmed on the bottom edge for a smooth. Even edge. Measures 108.5" long is 39" at peak& 8.5" deep. Old square nails are studding the backside also. Has metal flashing on top edge. Wonderful size for headboard- over a door way or mantle- could also be re-used for a functional purpose to dress up a home or barn! Will need to send with our delivery service- $200-300. And with that heavily carved Eagle atop.wow! Measures 17" tall excluding the pendulum. Is 13-1/2" wide and 5-1/2" deep. Cuckoo calls the hours + half hours. Was issued by the American Cuckoo Clock Company of PHILADELPHIA with its movement stamped Made in Germay. On the side of the movement however is stamped"LA BREITINGER! Most unusual. Has been keeping exceptional time. In fact, in a 24 hr. period nearly perfect(if not) right to the minute. The larger weight runs the time side and the smaller the Cuckoo side. Of special interest is the fact that this clock was actually once a patient of"The Clock Hospital. Port Tervis NY" dated 4/47 according ... moreto the writing discovered to the inner portion of the RH. bellows tube. Now, how's that for something a bit different? Hey, I wanna go to that hospital and be fixed-up once and for all.The heck with the doctors around here! LOL* This clock has survived the ages especially well. Hello again. Fellow collectors! This week I am listing VINTAGE ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE. You are bidding on ONE VINTAGE VICTORIAN GABLE PEDIMENT. These were salvaged from an old late 1800's Iowa two story Victorian farm house that was torn down. They measure 7 feet across at the base. Approximately 4 feet tall to fit a 12/12 pitched gable. Made from 3/4" Ponderosa pine stock. Currently they are painted, I can strip them for an extra cost(but not until springtime when things warm up) I can add more pictures of the other two if need be but I have to dig them out first. LARGE Oak Archictectural Pediment Carved Figural Door Header Crest Jester Devil
Offered for your consideration is this truly fantastic figural carved oak architectural arch top pediment. The carved face looks like a Jester or devil. Very nice detail and expression. The wood is quarter sawed oak with very bold tiger grain. It dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century. Pretty good condition. No repairs or missing pieces. There is a split in the wood across the mouth area of the head and into the scroll carving. Total height 9½" Top central pediment 18" x 5½" 2 decorative turned wooden finials about 5½" high and 2½" deep. Wider than the pediment which is about 15/8' deep. Small turned wooden decoration missing on right hand side. A little piece of wood missing from one finial. This was probably the top of a dresser. The sides are missing. Antique Carved Wood Overdoor. Pediment Animal Forms: first of all this piece was hard to photograph as it is supposed to sit under the soffit of an armoire or mantle. It can also be used as an overdoor or pediment. The hand carved piece is made of dark hardwood, possibly mahogany. The entire piece is carved and has a bat like shape in the middle and two reclining animals on either side. The piece has been around for well over 100 years and has some minor abrasions in the front and nail holes in the top and back. Measurements are: 51 1/4" by 4 3/4" highest point and 3/4" thick.

This is a monumental architectural pediment- Circa 1870. The depth to the dado panels in this oldie are just a true testimony to the craftsmanship used to create this stunning example of Victorian architecture. This piece could be applied in either direction(with the gingerbread on the top- if hung on a wall- OR hanging down if used in an opening.perhaps with some corbels on each end) This piece is currently measuring 83" long. But because of the proportions- it could be cut down on either end for a smaller application. The portion that does not have the gingerbread embellishment is 11 1/2" high- then it becomes 15" high where the embellishment begins- and at the highest part- it measures 18" high. This piece is 3 1/4" thick. This would make a wonderful head board or a statement piece anywhere. Circa 1800s. Library panel. Lots of possible re-uses with a little imagination. Looks like walnut, but not certain. It has a large, recessed panel with a double beveled edge. Both sides end in fluted, half finials. In the middle is a raised, beveled, burl panel. It is a whopper measuring almost 36 inches by 16 1/4 inches. Wonderful patina.
