Lot consists of two(2) corbels; they are the same motif. But oweing to their hand-carved production there is some variation in the shappe. One of the flowers is more open than the other. Structure/Composition: Made of hand carved hardwood with dark brown stain. Unstained side shows little grain ands is light honey colored. So it could be poplar or oak. It was for a drafting firm. Dentist office or school house as the little drawers have pencil/utility trays. Which I've photographed for you. It's actually 2 pieces. The bottom is a standard mantle front which we added a little interior lip to b/c our fireplace was a bit smaller. So you can fashion this around various sized fireplaces. The top section is a topper that sits on top and will need to be bolted/ affixed to the wall and rests on the mantle-top. The entire piece you are seeing here is 66" wide and 68" tall from the ground to the top ball on either corner. I see no detrimental damage to it whatsoever. It's clean and lovely. We will be listing the mantle as pick up only. But I am happy to handle shipping for you with a freight company. We are capable of building a crate, etc. You will be responsible for shipping and freight ab o ve& beyond your winning price. Professor Hale was a graduate of the University of Rochester and a leader in civic and religious activities in Rochester, NY. He served as President of the Board of First Baptist Church for many years, was an active Republican and know widely throughout the area for his extensive library. He died in February, 1925 at the age of 81. The top portion of the fireplace is about 72 inches wide and 24 inches deep. The top right corner of the fireplace has a missing piece that measures 4 inches wide by 1 inch deep. The top panel with all of the hand carved figures is about 18 inches tall. 60 inches wide, and 20 inches deep. The columns are each 42 inches tall. 6 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. The overall dimensions of the fireplace surround are about 72 inches tall. 72 inches wide(top portion) and 20 to 24 inches deep. This is a beautiful pair of columns made of oak and in very good condition for its age. This came out of an older home in Sarasota. FL but, the owners brought them from New York back in the 50's. Vintage Equity alarm clock that has a wind up movement and alarm. This stylish mantel clock dates to the 1950's. It has a very unusual rotating centre where the disc turns round with each tick in a psychedelic'Joe 90' style movement which is very hypnotic. Having a brass coloured outer punched metal work frame, black centre and cream coloured dials with illuminated numbers. Italy but the clock movement was created by Hechinger of West Germany, which dates the clock from between 1961 when the Berlin Wall was built and divided Germany and 1990 when the Wall fell. I purchased the clock from an auction in 1985 and it was not new at that time. It is a Hechinger quartz time movement which runs efficiently on one battery. The clock works. It does not chime. The clock is a very substantial piece. It stands 18" tall. 10" wide and is 5" from front to back. It weighs 6 lbs. ANTIQUE 8 DAY SESSIONS MANTEL/PARLOR CLOCK, RUNS GREAT
My hobby is clocks. I collect, and repair them. I simply have too many so I'm selling this beauty. It is a signed Sessions, spring wound, 8 days. It is 10 1/2 inches tall, 15 inches wide and 6 inches deep. The case as you can see is in very good condition. The dial has some fading and shows its age, as you can see by the pictures. I have just cleaned(via ultrasonic cleaner) and oiled the movement with the best synthetic oil you can buy. I have also rebushed all of the main pivots; the bushings all look great now. The clock will chime once on the 1/2 hour on a pleasant sounding bell(the bell was a 50 cent add-on in the early 1900's) then the number of the hours on the hour on the gong. My reasonable guess is the clock was made in the 1920's or a bit earlier. This clock will last you many, many years now. If you would like more ... morepictures or have any question please email me.
