Gibson Les Paul Case Early 70's 5 Latch with lock No Logo
This is an early 70's Les Paul case. The condition is very good to excellent with all of the buttons. Latches in great working order and hinges in great working order. Original handle in great shape. No logo. Black outside. Red inside. Same size and shape as the brown Lifton case. Some scratches and dings but shows it's age nicely. I had a 58 Les Paul jr in this case for years but recently sold my jr. Fits a 50's junior or special perfectly. The newer cases with the double neck support do not fit the 50's neck angle so well. A nice upgrade from the alligator case that usually came with them. Any Les Paul will fit in this case perfectly. A nice solid and clean case. This fantastic Mid-Century wooden box has dovetailed corners and a working Eagle Lock front latch. The box measures 17 1/4" across and is approximately 12" tall. Painted light green in color. The top has a charming toy motif with Elmco Toy Builder in yellow block type letters. In fair to good used condition, the box does have some paint ware, scratches, and a wooden notch is missing(see photo) There is also some separation of the dove-tailing on one of the corners of the lid which we have photographed. The two piece decorative brass latch with 5 screw holes has a few very minor surface marks(which have not been cleaned off) But no scratches or deep marks in the metal(see photos) The back piece is rusted, but it seems to open and close without any issue. The back side is marked with a number that is not legible and the letter L. The latch piece measures 3 3/4 inches by 3 inches, and the stationary piece measures 3 1/4 inches long by 3/4 inches wide by 1 1/8 inches deep. I found a key that works.kind-of.after a bit of cuss'n and sware'n it will lock! Then spit. Stomp yer feet and cuss some more and it will unlock.Or find another key that works better! Nothing wrong with the latch bub! Its just the key isnt quite right. Thats what they said about my ex-wife! Yup.She was'nt quite right! The BIN price is for one(1) of the pictured latches and one(1) keeper. This style and size and the fact that they are solid cast brass/bronze make these some of the hardest to find latches. These are primarily used on casement windows but they work well and look great on cabinets or other places you’d like to use a unique looking latch. The latch and keeper will work on either right or left hand side of door or window. The keepers are not the original to the latches. The keepers were modified so the latch could be surface mounted ... moreand the keeper would be semi mortised in the jam. The latches are cast bronze– brass and the keepers are steel. The working condition is very good with the latches having age darkening and loss of finish from usage. All I did to these was a quick wiping down with an oiled rag so you’re getting them in as found condition. But solid brass/bronze will polish up superbly using a buffing wheel with a dab of brass polish on a power drill. The approximate measurements of the latch is 6 ¼” long x 1 1/8” and the center to center of the screw holes is 1 3/8’ x ½” And the keeper is 1 5/8” wide x 1 5/8” and the center to center on the screw holes are 1” Free first class shipping in a padded envelope. Antique Vintage Clear Cut Glass Cabinet Knobs Set of 8 with latch mechanism.
These are not your run-of-the-mill average cabinet knobs. There are 7 compete sets and 1 incomplete set. 1 set is not complete because it is missing the spring that goes inside the tubular mechanism. These are all vintage/antique knobs. All knobs are matching and have 6 sides. The top of the glass knobs have been finely made and cut/polished to a shinny flat surface. Deep down inside the center of the glass knob is a silvery colored back plate. I don't know what it is actually made of. The glass knob is set in brass and has an oval brass backplate. It comes with the tubular latch mechanism. I took a picture of the parts of the tubular mechanism to show what the parts entail. The glass knob measures 7/8" wide. It is 7/8" deep from the top of the glass knob to(and including the brass back plate) The glass knobs are all in very ... moregood condition with no cracks. Chips or major scratches. The glass knobs are shinny and show very little wear except for the tarnished brass parts and the silvery plate at the bottom of the glass knob. See pictures. Vintage 40's Primitive Foil Paper Covered Case Antique Box w Metal Latch Hinges
This is Vintage Foil Paper Covered Box. This empty box is from the late 1940's. I think this is a paper covered box with a deep golden bronze lid and with a black bottom. It held a pair of serving tableware pieces. The front has an interesting latch and closure made of metal as well as two hinges on the back side. The inside has a cloth hinge and the original soft tissue paper found inside. The box measures 11 3/4 inches long. 4 inches wide. The inside is 1 inch deep and the lid adds another 1/2 inch to the inside height. It is in good condition. The box is solid. But the covering does show some wear along the edges and would be normal for a cardboard paper covered item over 40 years old.
