The tag is 4" long and a little over 1 1/4" across the widest spot. It is marked W.W. Wilcox Mfg. Co. Chicago on the back. The keys are the usual kind from Yale. Condition is mostly good. The tag is worn and grimy. With wear to the lettering on the left side, with some scratches here and there to both sides. They have been taken from the same typewriter as shown in the last 2 photos. They were quite messy and dirty as you can see. I cleaned them the best I can. And they are now in beautiful vintage condition. I did notice some cracks in a few of the keys which I have pictured in the second photo; they are the large shift key. The letters L, M, N, S, the number 9 with the" symbol. I'm not sure if they were cracked when my 70+ year old dad removed them from the typewriter or before. He thought there wasn't any type of glass covering on the keys, but in fact there was a thin plastic covering on them. I did note that this set has some black keys with the numbers 1000. 100, ... more10, 1 and a dot(period) symbol. There is also a key that says"Ribbon Key" Other than that the rest have the cream(pale yellow? colored back grounds with black numbers/letters and symbols on them. They have been filed flat on the backs. I cleaned them really well with vinegar, water, and three toothbrushes(my finger tips were pretty much stained black for a few hours) so they are nicely restored to the way they look in the photos. SMITH CORONA SUPER SPEED model 7 typewriter green keys 20" carriage 1950s +keys
This auction is for vintage LC SMITH CORONA large size 20" carriage manual typewriter. This is the SUPER SPEED model but I don't know if this a number 6a or 7a. It has the 2 tone keys dark green for the qwerty section and light green for the. 10 100 T 1 etc section. This typewriter has something stuck so the carriage is in the middle and won't move when striking the keys or any of the carriage left right levers. It will take a technician to fine the problem. I don't believe there is anything missing or broken just need a good cleaning and lubrication. All the keys move no stuck keys but without motion I can't see the type. U p for bid we have a very nice. 1947-48 Royal Quiet DeLuxe Portable typewriter. It's serial number is A-1690827, which dates it's production 1947, but the flat bottom keys indicate that it wasn't released for sale until 1948. This is likely one of the earliest units with the re-designed flat bottom keys- Royal called them"Finger Form" keys. According to the manual, this is the first of any typewriters to feature this key shape. This auction includes a re-production user's manual(unpictured) This typewriter seems to function in every way that it should. In fact. I am quoting the manual when I say the"Royal Portable is a sturdy typewriter, built to"take it. However, it could use a lube as a few keys stick and it also needs a new ribbon. There is a spot on the rear of the typewriter where the metal has flaked ... moreoff. The case has seen a few hard knocks; various scuffs and scratches all over. It has a key which works.
