1899 Antique Cast Iron Fence Gate Corner Post Old Victorian Gothic NR Nice
I am very pleased to offer this very nice Victorian 1800s corner/garden gate end post that was recently found recently in an estate in Western PA. The piece measures aprox 45 1/2" tall and is 4 1/2" square with original topper and end plate that you could attach to a sidewalk or platform of your choosing. It has some nice filigree in its body and this is ALL in tact with just minor wear from age with NO breaks.Repairs, or cracks. It is weighty and I would estimate its around 50 lbs and please see all the pictures as I have shown the nice Accorn finial, top heavy cap in the topper, filigree, fence connections and base still all intact. Antique Vtg Architectural Gate Post or Fence (solid) Cast Iron Bird Finial
This listing features an old. Solid cast iron bird finial. I believe it was on a gate or fence since it has a threaded post on the end. It is painted white and there is the usual weather wear to the paint with some rusting as shown. I think it is wonderful. There is still some threading left on the post. The bird measures 3 1/2" tall and is 3 1/2" wide. The threaded post is 1/4" long and 1/8" in diameter. It is heavy weighing over 1 pound unpacked. Too sweet! All items I sell are either vintage or antique. So, there may be some less than perfect condition factor. Please note that I will state if the item is in excellent or mint condition. Antique miniature cast iron fence with swinging gate for dollhouse train set etc
There are two sections of fence each 7 1/4 inches long by 5 inches tall at the end post. The gates are 3 inches wide. The gate hangs on the fence with hook and loop hinge. When a gate is hung on the fence the total length is 10 inches. So the total of the two sections of fence and gate together is 20 inches give or take depending on how near they are placed to each other.

Kirtland Mormon Temple cemetery Original Wrought Iron Fence Ohio LDS 1800s
This story is evolving as I learn more. 8/10/14. Will someone PLEASE HELP ME FIND AN OLD PICTURE OF THIS ORIGINAL WROUGHT IRON KIRTLAND MORMON CEMETERY FENCE. This fence was replaced shortly after WW II but this was the original fence from the 1800s. The fence I am selling is a 6 foot section of the original Mormon Temple Cemetery fence from the 1800s. I think it is priceless and has historical significance. This fence stood between the Kirtland Mormon Temple and Joseph Smith's home in Kirtland at the cemetery. I received this 6 foot section of fence from 92 year old Bill of Kirtland. Ohio area. I believe this is an antebellum 6 foot piece of Hand wrought iron history from the early Ohio Mormon history period. Bill got this fence from the estate of Vernon McFarland whose family owned a wrought iron ironware business in the 1800s and 1900s. ... moreI have taken a picture of the old sign from the O.S. McFarland family business that used to reside in the red building on the hill leading up to the Temple on the opposite side of route 306. According to Bill the fence was replaced by a newer fence installed by McFarland soon after WWII. McFarland kept this section of the original hand wrought iron fence in storage. Bill said that the fence had to be replaced because cars kept running into the fence damaging the original fence. I could imagine Ford Model T's hitting the fence. Vernon McFarland stored this fence in his red barn building for over a half of a century or more before passing away about 5 years ago. Perhaps someone has an old photograph of this fence design before it was replaced. It was replaced sometime during the 1900s. I believe this fence has great historical value to the LDS or Mormon or Reorganized or"Community of Christ" or Reformed church members. The"Temple Hill Forge" was established in 1865 by the McFarland family. They made Ornamental and Colonial Ironware. They were given the job to replace the original fence with the one that is currently in place. I would appreciate anyone

assortment of vintage fence hardware. the 5 toppers marked 25C are made of cast iron and fit down over old style 2" O.D. pipe. lower stud is 1-1/2 O.D. the ball measures 2-1/2" across and stand 3-1/4" tall from the skirt to the top of the ball. diameter of the ball is 8-3/4 in circumference with galvanized finish. 4 top rail cups fit 1-1/4" pipe. 13 tension straps appear to fit 1-3/4" 2" pipe. 4 collars for top rail or gate latch fits 1-3/4" 2" pipe. all pieces are galvanized. feel free to ask questions before bidding and thank you for looking.
