With 4 spindles, in good condition, measuring 2-1/4" in diameter, and{4} glass knobs, with spindles, measuring 2" in diameter. One of the glass knobs is loose, and moving freely within its brass seat, as shown in the last picture. This auction is for a lot of 4 antique glass door knobs from an Illinois home. They are a solid color and not translucent. 3 are black and 1 brown swirl. All 3 black knobs are made for square hardware inserts and have the set screw holes. The brown knob comes with the original all thread hardware. The threaded piece measures 3" long with an overall length of 4.75" They do show some signs of wear due to their age but are in good condition and are very useable. Lot of 6 or 3 Sets of Vintage Glass and Brass Door Knobs -1 is Nickel Plated
Hello everyone. I'm listing in this auction a nice vintage lot of door knobs. Three sets of two and they are made of heavy brass and pressed glass that has a silvery inset that makes them sparkle and catch that light like facets. One of the knobs has been nickel plated and these were mostly used on the inside of the bathroom door to match the high polished chrome look of the day, it has a surface defect that's small and it may be a factory inclusion or it could be from bumping against something like the wall over the years. T he overall condition is great considering their age. They have no chips, no cracks and no repairs, and only two of the set screws are missing that holds them in place on the threaded shanks. The brass is somewhat oxidized with the desired original patina and they have just a bit of paint that will clean off, ... morewhich is common for these. Expect just the minor issues and some general signs of wear for items of this age that are true vintage and used in a family home for decades. The glass itself cleaned up nice with just a spritz and a wipe with a paper towel after I took the photos. Feel free to ask me any questions before and after the auction. This auction is for a pair of antique/ vintage GLASS and BRASS door knobs, a pair of embossed. Ornate antique/ vintage door plates. These plates are BRASS- a magnet does NOT stick to them. The plates have a patinated antique brass look to them now- I think they could be polished to shine. The plates measure 5 1/16" high x 1 1/2" wide. These have NOT been cleaned- there is some white paint residue on the knobs and on the back plates. There is rust and white paint on the faceplate of the mortise-type lockset. The bolt moves in and out with spring return- I think it will work even easier when the rust is cleaned off and it's lubricated. NO skeleton key is included. The glass knobs are both 2" in diameter and match. The face of the lockset measures 7/8" wide x 5 1/4" high.
