This 3 1/2” long x 3 1/4” wide x 3/4” thick with 5” x 7/8” cast brass Eastlake end plate lock is intact and functional. The surfaces are entirely original with clean. Shiny black japanning. These knobs are fixed and do not rotate: mechanism is activated by a thumb lever. One white china knob has a nickel plated center and black japanned cast iron mount. Or cleaned in any way. The knob on the handle, and the one on the drawer are the ones that started life there. The finish on the wood is original, and it appears as if the cast iron has just mellowed naturally over it's considerable years. The fancy old cast iron top is of Eastlake design which makes me believe that it is probably a bit earlier than most. The mill measures 10 1/2" from the bottom of the base to the top of the knob on the handle. From the bottom of the base to the bottom of the cast iron top it's 5 1/2" The ... morefinger joined wooden box itself is 5 1/4" square. The beveled wooden base measures 6" by 6 1/2" Lastly the cast iron top is 7" by 7" The drawer is also finger joined, and as you can see by the pix, has a small piece of wood missing from it's back. There is also missing, a wing nut(possibly even a small knob)from the top of the end of the curved handle. By the way, the handle turns freely, and appears to function as it should. The wooden case is made of poplar. This mill is a bit larger than most of it's ilk, and is a mellow old reminder of simpler, and maybe even better times. Antique Eastlake Burled Walnut Backboard/Shelf
For bidding is a gorgeous Eastlake-style burled walnut backboard/shelf. It has a beautiful decorative top with scalloped burled walnut and a carved edge with a ball trim.The backboard measures 41 inches wide and 33-1/4 inches tall. It is solid walnut and the top half has a burled walnut inset panel. The shelf is 10-1/2 inches in depth and is supported by carved brackets with a fleur-de-lis cutout. This was probably from an antique dresser or buffet. It makes a gorgeous wall accent over another piece of furniture(or maybe a headboard! The piece is in very good condition with only a couple of minor flaws. There is a very small chip on the underside left-hand corner of the shelf and a 3/8" chip along the bottom. I believe Eastlake style, folding wooden chair. The fabric on the seat and backrest is a heavy tapestry. The original brass head tacks are still present. When I acquired the chair it was still being used, so this is not some delicate antique.you can use it now. This measures(see below) Condition(on a scale of poor. Fair, good, very good, excellent) is very good antique condition. Wood is sturdy with nothing broken, appropriate condition for age with some rubs on the stained wood, scratches, that kind of thing. Tapestry fabric still very sturdy, a few areas where the threads have worn down, more wear and less color on the seat as would be expected from age. On the back of the seatrest ... morethere had originally been fabric covering that whole area, and only the remains are left now(you can see in the photos a little fabric remaining in the top two corners) Measurements 34" high 17" wide at arms seat. This is a really nice piece. It measures only 14 3/4" tall, 7 1/2" across the widest, and 5 3/8" deep. There is handwriting in pencil on the back of the mirror, I cannot make it out, though. There are 2 drawers, and a real mirror, which shows some discoloration. On the right side of the mirror, it was either made this way, or the piece was broke off years ago, since it is stained. From out non-smoking home… Gorgeous fainting sofa. Most likely 1880s, with beautiful Eastlake foliate incising. Beautifully upholstered in luxurious velvet. Rosy-burgundy with golden-green stripes. Velvet is high-end and may be silk. It has some wear, but is still lovely and functional. Lovely woodwork. Including a high pediment with an ornate shield, curved overlaid burled walnut panels, ornate vining incising, turned feet, fluted molding that curves around the rounded base of the couch, and carved base pediment. Original finish, not refinished and ruined. Condition is excellent for approximately 130 years old. There is wear to the upholstery. But it is still beautiful and useful. I'm pleased to offer this hand-made clock shelf with Victorian Eastlake style. With sawtooth fringe under the front, corbel-style supports, and incised aesthetic decoration. It's equipped with a drawer having 2 porcelain pulls. I believe it is made from walnut. This is somewhat rustic. With awkward, delicate drawer rails and nails in the face of the drawer. It has remnants of very old paint and has obviously been refinished. However, it looks great and is just the right size for a black mantle clock. A gingerbread clock would also fit very well. The dimensions are shelf width of 20" and depth of 8.5" drawer width of 14" and height of 1.5" backplate height of 8.5" Condition is excellent or better. Antique Eastlake Style Fireplace Tool Stand Holder Cast Iron
This is a wonderful old cast iron piece. It is in the Eastlake style- maybe Eastlake revival. Height is 17-1/2 inches. The base is 10-1/2 inches across at the widest point and measures 6-3/4 inches from front to back. Weight is 5 pounds and 2 ounces. The design on this piece is really wonderful- I've taken pictures from all angles. Even the back has a design on it. I have cleaned this piece because we found it laying on the floor of a basement we cleaned out. The basement had been wet and the piece was covered in rust. After cleaning I rubbed it with boiled linseed oil for protection from further rust. The stand is made of three separate pieces- base. Body and arm.
