Good old vintage cast iron is stronger and harder than the new soft reproduction stuff they make in modern hinges. Likely cast in the last 1880's to the early 1900's. These have a nice sharp. Clean and fancy casting. The pattern is also on the back of the hinge and shows when the door is closed. The hinges were sprayed with clear acrylic lacquer finish. This clear finish has scratch and water resistance. They are 5" long from steeple tip to steeple tip and they are 3" wide. The pins are loose and removable. Gorgeous Solid walnut antique nightstand Own some American History.no doubt made by an American country craftsman The hardware has an Eastlake style.it is beautiful Circa 1850-1895 Beautiful original drawer ring pull.notice the fine details in the back plate.the pull has a great naturally aged& worn patina! I restore fine antiques and this lovely nightstand/table was in need of some meticulous restoration.I restored it from top to bottom and added some custom touches along the way! The legs are no doubt hand made/turned.they are beautiful What I love the most about this piece is the rich walnut wood.the wood is actually about 350-400 years old considering when it was cut down to make this table.the graining is spectacular I restored the finish entirely by hand. Just like when it was made.I hand scraped and sanded the failed original finish.then ... morehand rubbed many, many coats of varnish which showcases the wood and protects it as well. The hand scraping and sanding is labor intense but provides the most stunning look when restored! The finish is silky smooth but you can still feel the walnut grains/pores just as I designed the finish! I s trengthened the original loose top with screws& added the twelve antique walnut pegs around the top.it looks superb and add architectural detail! The stretcher/rung which connects the stretcher/rungs on the lower part of the legs I custom made and added the antique walnut pegs over the screw holes.the table had a shelf on the lower portion originally.it was missing& I added the custom stretcher/rung.it blends in perfectly with the overall design of the table The drawer slides like silk since being fully restored. We have hand stripped. Re-glued, sanded, stained, applied multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer and applied two reproduction handles and an escutcheon that we antiqued. Now we have one solid oak high quality dessert server to offer you, which is hard to find back in the 1940s sets. Imagine how hard it is to find back from the Eastlake era! Believe it or nor this server still has the backsplash with it and it has little tiny balls carved in each corner. It is simply stunning in a medium oak stain. It has a lot of eye appeal. It is 37.5 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 5 inches from the floor on the first shelf, the second shelf is 18 inches from the floor, 36.5 inches high to the top from the ground and it is 45 inches high to the top of the finials on the server. The backsplash itself is 5.5 inches high. The drawer is dove tail and has two shelves underneath to offer plenty of storage. Nice Eastlake style Victorian hanging wall shelf, looks to have hand carving, impressed 600(please see attached pictures) Item is 13&1/2" tall, supports are on hinges and are swung out to the shelf position as shown, is impressed 600, and all the nails are curiously in pairs and are turned over on each other as shown. Item is shown in the folded up position in the last pictures. Condition is as follows: Has a small chip in the wood on the left side as shown and there is some light wear/chipping on the back at the hanging hole as shown. There is also wear on the bottom where the small nail swings out to sit in the shelf hole as shown and some penciled numbers above the impressed 600 as shown. Really nice antique Victorian or Eastlake needlepoint armchair from the 1800s. This piece has nice carved. And burl wood accents. The wood looks to be walnut. Upholstery is in excellent shape, as well as the bones of the chair. The chair is still able to be sat in without issue. There are no cracks, breaks, or loose joints that I could find. Due to this piece being older you probably could find some sign of wear, but it will be hard to find. I am helping a friend sell this piece. It has been in his family for many many years. He is an older gentleman so he will not be able to move the chair around. But I live close by to assist if needed. The chair measures 23 1/2" wide, 21" deep, 40" tall. 15 1/2" tall to the seat. Oak and tufted velvet fainting sofa built around 1890 Eastlake Co.
I have up for bid an Oak and tufted velvet fainting sofa. It was built around 1890. I believe, by the Charles Eastlake Company(you can tell by the Eastlake straight lines carved in the oak) with a heart carved in the top of the back. The back is removable and the two arms have 6 positions that they will crank down or up for comfort. This sofa was professionally recovered. The sofa also has carved feet. In the first picture the back is 43” tall. 62” wide and the seat is 27” deep. It is very comfortable. I noticed in the heart in the back there is a line on the fabric that I never noticed before but it doesn’t appear to be a flaw in the material. I just want to point everything out. This is a rare, beautiful sofa that will look great in your home. We have never seen one like this one before. BEST Incised EASTLAKE Victorian Era Fainting Sofa~1880-90~Walnut & Velvet~MD/PA
From out non-smoking home… Gorgeous fainting sofa. Most likely 1880s, with beautiful Eastlake foliate incising. Beautifully upholstered in luxurious velvet. Rosy-burgundy with golden-green stripes. Velvet is high-end and may be silk. It has some wear, but is still lovely and functional. Lovely woodwork. Including a high pediment with an ornate shield, curved overlaid burled walnut panels, ornate vining incising, turned feet, fluted molding that curves around the rounded base of the couch, and carved base pediment. Original finish, not refinished and ruined. Condition is excellent for approximately 130 years old. There is wear to the upholstery. But it is still beautiful and useful. Upholstery on the back has a 4” tear(which is moot unless you plan to put it in the middle of a room) The sofa is approximately approximately 76" long. 41" ... moretall to the top of the shield, and 27" deep. This piece can be picked up at our home in Central PA near Penn State. Or we will be happy to work with your shipper. Alternately, we are moving to MD, and will be bringing this sofa with us. Up for auction is this fabulous antique Victorian/Eastlake cast iron. Ornately detailed, plant hanger hook. This is a heavy solid piece- beautifully made. The metal is completely sound, no cracks, breaks or repairs. It was designed to pivot or swivel, doesn't move much now, could use an oiling- WD? It is decorated with beautiful cut-out designs and embossed Eastlake stylized detailing on all sides. It connects to the large cast iron wall bracket with a rod topped off with an acorn finial. Early Antique Eastlake Mirror - Primitive Folk Piece All Original
This very old. Antique Eastlake mirror dates from the 1860's to the 1880's and measures 14" x 25.75" As I am not a furniture expert I had this mirror looked at by a third party that deals in antique furniture and was told that everything appears original including the glass and stain. Like each of the three pieces the details in the drawer faces as well as the mirror frame tie the pieces together as a set. Years ago my wife had the pieces appraised by an online appraiser. I cannot verify the accuracy of this appraisal. It actually seems quite high to me. Exquisite Eastlake Victorian rocking chair. I have never seen one quite like this one. Very unique in it's carving as well as it's upholstery. Has a small tear in the upholstery I tried to highlight in the photos as well as a minor stain. I've never tried to clean it off so it may not be permanent for all I know. These chairs are matching parlour chairs. They have been professionally reupholstered in a beautiful tapestry fabric around 1960. At that time the seats and back were also refurbished to give the seats a very comfortable feel when sitting. They come with what appears to be the original metal and wood casters. Usually the casters have been replaced with modern versions but not on these chairs. The fabric has a dark brown background with gold. Deep rose and light rose flowers with olive green leaves. There are little hints of baby blue in buds that are scattered throughout the florals. The frame has a pink brass shiny patina. Fancy large aesthetic side arms with an unusual moth and floral motif. Painted opal glass font holder with single wild roses or similar flower, has a 4" flat wick style likely duplex font, 14" bent tab band shade holder ring, large separators. And top cap. To finish off the frame included are 36 replacement cut glass prisms for the shade ring. Frame is ca. 1880s. Ansonia, Meriden Malleable, or Miller. Frame measures about 44" long and 17" wide.
