A very handsome antique Federal. Circa 1810, bow front mahogany chest of drawers. The front posts are carved as twist rope and reeded spool, the feet as cylinders. The drawer fronts are uniform flame mahogany veneer. The top is of two solid boards, the posts solid, the sides of veneer. It measures 40" tall by 41" wide by 18" deep at center. Very good plus condition: original finish, a few minor old veneer patches on skirt and some larger on lower sides. Old brasses and knobs are old replacements to originals. Top boards without wear, cracks or spots.

Hi. And thanks for looking! This listing is for a real antique empire style dresser. This is a good sized piece, 47 inches high, 42.5 wide, and 23 deep. There is three drawers on the bottom and two up top, all with hand cut dovetails. I think the bottoms of the drawers as well as other parts are all one piece of wood with no seams. The front has beautiful flame mahogany veneer which is in fairly good shape except on the top drawers, which have slight curve. Along each side of the front are greek colums with hand carved details top and bottom. The top of the dresser is two boards that have been painted to look like wood grain. There is a gap in between them, due to age I suppose. All the drawer pulls are clear glass, I don't think they are original, but they are old, and some don't match exactly. Case is on four ball feet. The drawers and secondary wood is pine. The top is of three mahogany boards. The sides have recessed panels. Chest measures 53" tall by 50" wide by 24" deep. Very good plus condition: original unworn finish, flame veneers very fine. The lock to the top center drawer is missing, four other drawer locks present. The Chippendale style brass escutcheons are old replacements for the Empire style originals. Minor chip to edge molding around the top boards. Back boards with shrinkage cracks masking taped over.

Hello. For sale are 2 architectural oak columns that were salvaged from a turn of the century home in Cincinnati, Ohio. They are oak with a beautiful quarter sawn veneer in its original finish. They are based on the ionic Roman order of design with the scrolled capitals. Each stands 74" tall, 13" in diameter and 6 1/2" wide capital. Excellent, original condition with a mellow warm patina that only time can bring. Minor, stable age splits in the veneer and wear consistent with age that really only enhance their beauty. Absolutely great shape, and ready as they are, to be incorporated into your decorating or rehabbing project. Weight is 20 lbs a piece. Set 4 Antique Carved Wooden Neo Classical Pillars Columns 24" Roman Ionic Greek. Good antique conditions. One of the columns is missing the square cap at the bottom, two of them have a broken dowel in the back. One pillar has a small crack at the top left area and the inside nub of the spiral has broken off. Otherwise light wear and minor losses. There are a couple cracks in the columns but they are structurally very sound and solid. They measure 24 3/8" long and 5" wide at widest point. I think they are carved from oak but I am not certain what type of wood it is. This auction is for the actual item(s) as pictured. I find all of my items at estate sales. Pair Amazing Antique Galvanized Steel Cast Iron Tapered Fluted Doric Columns
Rare antique pair of steel and cast iron classical columns. The bases and capitals are heavy walled cast iron and the shafts are(looks like galvanized) steel.A nice heavy gauge that looks like 12 or 14 gauge. No cracks to the cast iron. The fluted shafts are very rigid and there are no apparent dents or dings,though many layers of paint exist. It would take a real sharp blow to dent these. As strong as they are,I would not consider them to be load bearing on their own, though they would hold quite a bit of weight.A 6 x 6 or a 4 x 4 wood post was probably used as a bearing post.For what they are,the condition is excellent,with no rot, rust-through or bends. I would classify any rust as surface rust.The bases and capitals fit snuggly. They measure 93-1/4" tall each.Including the base and capital.The base measure 13-1/2" square and ... morethe capitals are 10-1/2" square. These are also tapered.The shaft being 10" in diameter at the bottom and 8" at the top.This does not get picked up in photos-they appear straight. But in person,they are noticably tapered, required a trapazoidal blank of sheet steel and some pretty trick machinery. Perfect for decorative interior columns in spaces with an 8ft ceiling. If the paint were stripped,these would look incredible. Pick up from Montclair.N.J. due to weight and size. Antique Chinese pair of wood carved gilded gold half columns
Pair of Antique Chinese Decorative carved wood half columns. Base and top painted in red lacquer(some light chipping from age) and gold gilded figures. Both have an intricate design, detailed carving representing#1 standing armored soldiers swinging swords, others mounted on horses with spears, defending a castle. 2 Represents the inside of the castle, with guards looking out the balconies, a figure of a Lord on the throne waving a victory flag a lotus flower above the throne. At the top the Lord is standing at the balcony making a speech and a figure at his feet, on his knees begging for pardon.
