These unique hanging lamps were very much ... morein high fashion in the late 1960s and most often had a marble table(pleases see my other listings) This very beautiful and ritzy lamp houses an intricately carved, Italian Gilt Wood table and glass top. This lovely piece of art(that is what it is) consists of an extremely ornate and very large brass finial. The finial houses 4 chain attachments. The long chains have beautiful, ribbed brass tube connectors which attach to the Gilt Wood. The Gilt Wood is filigree carved with a large, center medallion. The Gilt Wood is slightly concave and the glass top rests somewhat above the Giltwood in the center for a very nice extra depth look. The large and extremely ornate lantern light fixture hangs centrally from the finial. Very ornate. Antiqued brass hardware formed in scrolling acanthus leaves, and 5 textured amber glass panels with an open caged bottom complete the lantern. The lantern houses a pull chain for the on/off mechanism. I purchased this beautiful lamp from a woman who had it in her house since around 1970 and the lamp was still in place when I purchased it. This table lamp/chandelier has been VERY BEAUTIFULLY maintained. It shows very little wear and looks almost new. The lamp had been used for decor and still has the 1970s light bulb inside! This is a very beautiful and rare fixture! It is also quite large. This piece measures 51" from top of finial to the table. The table is 22" in diameter. Very heavy with no cracks, missing metal, rot, or other visible damage. Very old paint that is checking, chipping and has different colors on top and under each. Some random spray paint areas. Olympic 1827G gas kiln for bisque. High fire(cone 10) reduce, and raku. Olympic updraft gas kilns are constructed from durable firebrick and are equipped with venturi burner systems to ensure even temperature firings. Kiln retails for $1240.00 all by itself with no hookups. Tank, hookups, shelves and columns are all included. We have used this kiln for about 3 years and it fires great. It has not been in use for about 1 year. Gas kilns have a small learning curve, but once you get used to controlling the temperature it's great! These carved oak balusters are in excellent condition: no major cracks. Repairs or issues. They have been used and show a few chips. Bumps, rubs and indications of age and experience. These are both flat on one side and were mounted against a flat surface: they are not completely round. I have lightly washed these but have not sanded or extensively worked on them in any way. They have a small fraction of their original finish. Giving them a muted, shabby but chic color tone. Being oak, and in very nice shape, they would strip and refinish with a stain to tones from golden oak to as dark as you like. Here is an absolutely delightful large antique federal style sideboard or buffet with gorgeous flame mahogany veneers. Columns with detailed carving above and below with very detailed fabulous carved lion's feet on the front legs. The large lovely cabinet has a really nice top surface with a number of faint or light scratches but no major gauges, stains, chips or other serious damage to the top as I attempt to show in my photographs. It is a somewhat oversize functional piece of furniture and perfect for a front entry hall, hallway, dining room or any room in your home or business. It has three drawers and three large open cabinets with lots of extra storage in a classic 19th century Federal style sideboard in very nice condition and ready to make a statement in your home or office. The original metal hardware is all intact and sort of ... morea floral, perhaps a peony, in shape and are attached through into recessed holes within the drawers as shown. Investing just a bit into the minor repairs to the veneer to restore this great buffet to it's former glory will make this piece even more special and valuable if you prefer antiques restored and in near perfect condition. This beautiful sideboard stands 44 1/2 inches tall to the top surface of the sideboard and 49 3/4 inches tall to the top of the serpentine mantle across the back edge. It measures 63 inches long at it's widest point at the outside of the beautifully carved lion's feet on the front legs and the top surface board is 61 3/4 inches long. The piece is 24 3/8 inch deep front to back. Again at the deepest point at the lion's feet which protrude beyond the front of the drawers and cabinets, and 21 3/4 inch front to back at the top surface board and general body of the sideboard. Antique Mantel with Original Beveled Mirror, Columns, Egg&Dart- LOWER PRICE!
For sale is this lovely antique mantel with beveled mirror which came out of a house in Ashe County. NC that was 100+ years old. The mantel has a column on either side of the opening and the mirror is trimmed with egg and dart moulding. There is also a decorative oval design on either side of the mirror and side. Dimensions are as follow: Opening- width 41 1/2" x length 41 1/2" overall: 60 1/4" width x 72 1/4" height. The mantel is completely refinished in a warm tone and boxed for immediate installation. The box is about 10 3/4" from back to front. The mirror is 39 1/2" width x 15 1/2" height. The mirror has an obvious scratch but no cracks or major damage and I believe it is the original mirror with no re-silvering. Some of the wood on the shelf needed extra repair and upon close inspection, the former ... moredamage can be detected. There is some damage to the base where the columns are mounted that caused some of the surrounding wood to be missing. In the process of refinishing, that has been reshaped to be rounded on the corners. The decorations are in excellent condition and while it is simple, the ovals and egg/dart decorations add just the right touch. Thanks so much for looking! It is in its original finish. The finish has some wear as you can see. The top shelf has been painted brown on the top side only. There are a few knicks here and there but overall a great looking piece. The overall dimensions are 51.5" wide X 49" high. The opening is 30.5" wide X 28" high. They were originally support pillars in a large French cabinet. They are in very good antique condition: Both pillars have the expected amount of nicks and scratches from 70+ years of use. This date range can be inferred because of the number of unit beads it contains. Soroban manufactured in Japan before 1850 included a 2/5 bead combination(2 beads on the upper deck and 5 beads on the lower deck) The Japanese formally changed to a 1/5 style in 1850. This soroban has the 1/5 bead style. Approximately 13” x 4 1/4” 15 Columns METAL RODS 1/5 Beads ~ 15 Digits An abacus is a device used for addition and subtraction.
