Small Primitive Antique Cast Iron Heating Grate Vent Shabby White Paint I brought home a truck load of items from the auction last week. It was a farm estate. And I found some fabulous primitive antiques, as well as boxes and boxes of antique and vintage hardware that I will be listing for a long long time- someone clearly was a woodworker or dabbled in furniture creation or restoration. There’s something for everyone! Here is a fabulous antique heat vent grate that shows its yeeeears in paint! It's thick in white(and deco green in some generation) on this old beauty- and searching for a home to clean it off and put it back to work again. It's a small vent. With a working knob on the front that opens and closes the back to control the air. Made from cast iron, it measures 11 1/2" by 9 5/8" on the outisde, and then there's ... morea steel band/rim that rungs along the inside. It's attached to two screws that come in from the top and bends slightly in toward those screws(so those two long sides are not straight, but the two short sides are- I'm describing it, because I have never used or re-used one of these- so please supersize and look at my photos, and ask any questions, to make sure you can use it) The inside band measures 10 1/16" by 8" on the ends, and with the centers going in, it's 7 3/4" there. From the top of the grate to the bottom of that band on the backside, it measures 1 3/8" and the grate is a heafty 4 1/2 lbs. Aside from the layerslayersandlayers of old paint, it appears to be in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's no cracks or chips to the iron that I can find to the iron and as I said above, the door works well. In photo 18, I have a close up because I can't tell if that's a maker's mark, or just thick paint- see what you think. There's old calk on the edges too- they are layered with paint also. I just noticed in the sunlight that it also had a generation of a salmon color in addition to the white and green too! There

This is a nice cast iron grate from the Art Deco era. Maker unknown. The grate is in excellent condition for it's age. No breaks. Chips or cracks.It has been painted silver Not a great paint job. So you may want to strip and re-paint it. It is a heavy piece. Very well made and sturdy. It is 16" in height. 16 1/2" wide at the top and flares out to 17-18.5"s at the middle and 19" wide at the bottom. The outer lip of the panel is 12" h x 15" w. The panel is 11.5" h x 14.5" It is 1 1/16" deep at the top and and flares out to 2.5" deep at the bottom. For this item I will ship anywhere in the USA ONLY. Vintage Cast Iron Very Ornate Heating Grate/ Cold Air Return With Damper Measures 13 3/4 inches x 9 3/4 inches Damper is broken. Is fixable but will require some welding. Can be used to fill that hole in the floor if you are not concerned with opening and closing the damper. You can take the grate out of the floor to open or close it, or maybe just fix the damper, it appears it just needs welded. One of the closers is out of the grate, the lever is loose but there. Seems to be a pretty good size handle compared to many of them. The handle on the front side says"GARLAND" and the backside has the word"ART" The handle looks to have been chrome plated or something similar when it was made. Also it seems as if over time a little of the plating has came off in a few areas and a little of rust has came through and it also looks as if someone in the past has put a clear coat over the entire handle to preserve it. Old Cook Stove Grate Shaker and Stove Lid Lifter Cast Iron OLD
Here are two old cast iron items that were used in the old cook stoves. Heaters or parlor heaters. First is the lifter that was used to lift the round metal plates from the top of the cook stoves or heaters. It measures about 8 1/4 inches long and does have some rust and wear from age and use, but nothing is broken and it can still be used today. There is no makers mark on it. Next is the shaker to shake the ashes down from the grates. It too shows wear from age, but nothing broken off and it also is ready to be used again. The hole that goes into the grate is rectangle in shape, it measures about 7/8 of an inch by about 3/4 an inch, and is about an inch deep. It has a curved handle. Vintage Architectural Wall Vent ~ Air Register~ Heat Grate~ Up for bids is an old Antique Victorian ~ Gothic? ~ ARCH Wall Vent ~Air Register ~Heat Grate. This Vent measures approx. 11” inches Wide by Approx. 15" inches in Length. Inside portion which fits into the wall measures approx. 9" inches Wide by approx. 12" inches in Length and measures approx. 3" in Depth when fully opened. Louvers work fine. This Vent is very dirty. It does show old paint, rust and wear. This Vent will need to be cleaned up. From what I can see there are no cracks. This is being sold AS-IS. If you should win more than one of my items. Up for sale is a beautiful piece of antique cast iron a rchitectural hardware. It was salvaged from a very old Chicago estate. This air register is adorned with a pleasing geometric design and also possesses four pilot holes on each corner of the grate for easy installation. There are several foundry hallmarks from the manufacturer which are located on the back of the vent. They read"V.R. 20,24" This wonderful vent is in superb condition, no cracks or breaks anywhere. It has been spruced up by removing the loose dirt and rust. It has also been sealed. Vintage Floor Grate Air Return Register Cast Iron industrial table
Nice heavy duty vintage cast iron floor grate. It measures 23.25" by 14.5" and is 1/8" to 5/8" thick. This grate weighs 12.5 pounds. The paint is 99% gone and it is rusted with nice patina.Truly antique and damage free. This would make a beautiful table. Thanks for looking.
