Old Rooster Weathervane ANTIQUE HOLLOW BODY COPPER FOLK ART
Up for consideration is this nice. Original, Hollow Body Copper Rooster weathervane. It's all there including the wood base. At 33" overall with 12" directionals and a rooster that stands 10" and 8" wide It is a diminutive size. It came from an historic Eastern Shore of Maryland smoke house, thus the smaller size. Seam separations on the body and tail. Directionals are in nice shape. Note the hollow two piece tail. You can use the original nail holes to mount to a stand or put it on the wall. Antique vintage beautiful copper brass eagle arrow weathervane with stand
Up for auction to U.S. customers for local pickup only is a very nice old eagle weathervane. It comes with a nice cast iron stand that the rod fits into. It stands 50 inches from ground to the top of the wings; the wings measure 22 inches across and the eagle itself is about 16 inches high. As I hope the pictures show. The piece has great patina and no damage(although the arrow is tilted slightly) This disassembles into 6 pieces- the eagle, arrow, lower ball, 2 directional and the stand. Between the stand and the rod I can't see how this would all fit securely into a shipping box so it is for pickup only. I have no history on it other than the people at the sale where I picked it up claimed they had found it on a barn in Pennsylvania. I don't know that for sure, nor do I know its age: the experts out there can probably figure out ... morewhen it was made based on certain features of the bird. Here is a beauty.Ruby Red glass etched to clear frosted glass in the iron cross symbol. Found just the way we like to find them.original and untouched. Very nice 18" antique rusted cast iron weather vane directional. The screw has not been tampered with. There are the tiniest tinest flea bites at a couple of the points of the etching in the cross. You really need to be up on it about 6 inches away and have good eyes. I am sure inherent from being etched but I like to get everything out there. I have left the glass the way I found it. I would think it would clean up if that is the way the new owner likes. I personally like the way it is and know others might too so have left it alone. And you know you are getting old glass! This old bulb is missing its insides and the center of the metal mount. It does not show any maker's marks. The glass is quite thick and has no nicks. Chips, or cracks. The base has a crusty finish now and is likely not brass but a base metal of some sort. No loop remains on the end. Inside there are remnants of a silver coating showing near the base: I have seen similar in other eBay listings where these bulbs are referred to as'mercury glass' and once used on lightning rods(email a correction. Presenting 2 circa 1860- 1890 rusty cast iron weathervane directional arrows. The longer measuring 23" the shorter 17 1/2" The larger one has a rust frozen screw. I tried to get it loose and could not. The shorter one has a different system of securing the glass. The glass is cut to the proper length to enable sliding it into the slot and then backing it up into the other slot. No other issues other than the frozen screw. Antique Rooster Copper Weathervane Vintage Americana Full-Body Old Classic Vane
It is time to begin to thin out my antique weathervane collection and here is an old vintage American hollow body copper. Cock-rooster weathervane I am offering for your consideration. He stands approximately 22" tall from the top of his comb down to the bottom of the tube mount. And it is approximately 23" wide from the tip of the arrow point to the end of the feather. All of his wonderful patina is natural and was developed from the outdoor environment he was in over all of those years. There has been no additives or chemicals to develop color or patina. This beautiful vane is the real deal. And if you examine his design you will see that he has a great classic look, not like so many recent copies of this form. He was outside his entire life until I acquired him. And has had some repairs over the years to keep him functional in ... morehis service when he was outdoors. Please note those areas in the photographs, where the tail attaches to the body, a bit of repair to the hole in his bottom where it attaches to the down tube. A spot of repair too at the bottom of his feet to secure him to the arrow. He has an slight indent on the left side at the foremost feather of the wing, and an old bend at the end of the arrow's feather at the very tail end. This is an antique rooster and arrow weathervane. I believe it is painted iron but could be another type of metal. This came off an old barn in the Willamette Valley near Eugene. OR. It is an early 1900's era weather vane. The color is closer to the whiter color in the pictures, the lighting really made it look yellowish but it is white patina. The whole unit is solid and doesn't rotate or move except as a complete unit. This is a very rare and unique piece that is an awesome addition to anyone's collection. Antique 19thc Small 16" Copper Rooster Weathervane One Side Painted (see Pics)
Nice old weather-vane from kitchen rafters in New Hampshire home. One side has old orange paint while the other is naturally aged copper. Verdigris has grown thick in parts. It measures 12 1/2" from feet to top of head feathers. 16" from base attachment to top of head feathers. 13" across from arrow tip to end. Tail feathers are 7 3/4" in height. Both sides are textured with design. Copper side seem more flat than painted side. There are 2 old screws(were not mounted in home by them) still embedded and 1 hole in the eye. Great patina! Nice old rustic weather-vane from kitchen rafters in New Hampshire home. One side has old orange paint while the other is naturally aged copper. Verdigris has grown thick in parts. It measures 12 1/2" from feet to top of head feathers. 16" from base attachment to top of head feathers. 13" across from arrow tip to end. Tail feathers are 7 3/4" in height. Both sides are textured with design. Copper side seem more flat than painted side would be nice fit against a wall. There are 2 old screws(were not mounted in home by them) still embedded and 1 hole in the eye. Great patina! I pack safely. Ship only within the USA and in 1 business day.

This is an antique wooden Red-Headed Woodpecker shaped weathervane. It is 9" long 4.5" tall and.5" wide. The paint is faded and chipped in some spots because of it's age. The nail that held it in place is very rusty but it still holds it's original shape and sturdiness. The metal eyes are also rusty underneath the pain. Overall shape is in decent primitive condition. The weathervane measures 35 1/2 inches long and about 20 inches tall. It weighs almost 9 1/2 pounds. This weather vane has a Carriage that looks like it's from Cinderella. This is double sided sheet copper with a great patina. I have taken several pictures so you can see it's condition and patina. My pictures don't do it justice. Antique N.H. 16" Copper Rooster Weathervane Rustic Kitchen 1 side Painted Orange
From kitchen in my home state of NH. Old weather vane. One side has old orange paint while the other is naturally aged copper. Verdigris has grown thick in parts. It measures 12 1/2" from feet to top of head feathers. 16" from base attachment to top of head feathers. 13" across from arrow tip to end. Tail feathers are 7 3/4" in height. Both sides are textured with design. Copper side seem more flat than painted side would be nice fit against a wall. There are 2 old screws(were not mounted in home by them) still embedded and 1 screw? hole in the eye. Great patina! Please examine pictures as they give the best description. I pack safely. This is the second one listed we discovered in an estate sale. Like the first. Everything is original; however, the tail glass in this one is broke in two pieces and a portion missing. The glass most likely has no value, but it will be included with the arrow. This has not been clean at all. This was an estate of ham radio enthusiasts and this was mounted on their roof for a very long time. We were told that this one and one other we're listing separately. Huge antique hand forged weathervane 1800s fancy lightning rod cupola
This is incredible. Came out of virginia is only history unfortunately. 46" long 11 3/4" widest 5/8"holes. Hand forged except for the tail insert which is rivetted to four tabs that are rivetted torails. Everything looks original. Only damage to this monster is little doughnut cast piece is only 1/2 there. Hate to sell this as it is probably the best I will ever own but love my kids. For auction is a hollow. Copper figural weather vane of the Statue Of Liberty, with a directional. Age estimate is early to mid 20th century. Experts please chime in. As stated in the Description(above) I don't know much about weather vanes, so I'm just trying to represent it as honestly as possible and let you bidders out there make your best judgement. Miss Liberty is shown in profile: she holds the torch with one arm, and her tablet with the other. The figure appears to be made of solid copper sheets, molded into a hollow figure, about 22.5" tall from the top of the torch to the bottom of the robe. It is about 7" wide at the base of the figure. The figure is mounted to a pole atop an arrow, which also appears to be hollow and made of copper(the feather is a single sheet of metal) The vertical pole of the directional goes ... morethrough two hollow copper balls(about 5.5" tall combined, the large ball is about 4" diameter) The N/S/E/W directional appears to be solid brass. Up for your consideration is this excellent 43" late 19th century gilt molded copper eagle. This eagle was retrieved from a large estate in the highlands of Fall River. MA. Fall River was known, along with New Bedford as one of the largest ports for fishing, whaling and passenger ships in Massachusetts at the height of the industrial revolution. This eagle is believed to be a pilot eagle that sat atop one of the steamers in the bay. We see this eagle has cast zinc talons which show that it once clutched a ball or mount. The eagle looks as though it may have been recoated as we see two tones of gold(see photos) we do see some minor bending, and some slight areas of seams spiting(see photos) This eagle has a small hole in the base with a rounded, flush edge which shows it may have been perched on a pole. For sale is an Antique Weather Vane from early 20th Century or Late 19th Century 1900s/ 1800s. It is a Ethan Allen Sulky Horse with Racing Buggy and Rider/ Jockey and comes with Directions North. South, East and West and has Mounting Bracket/ Base which is harder to find. Materials range from Copper, Brass and Cast Iron. The arrow and stand have chipped paint and the end of the arrow is labeled ROBBINS. MARYVILLE,MO. The diameter of the hole for the arrow is about 1/2" The arrow is 20" long and 2.5" tall. This cupola and vane were put on the garage around 1913. The piece measures 55" tall, 21" wide and 21" deep. The cupola top is all copper including the nails.
