Antique Weathervane Display w/ Cast iron Arrow, Blue Glass, White Ball
A lovely little weathervane display that will add charm to your home as a decorative display piece. This piece features an old. Naturally rusted cast iron weathervane arrow complete with the original blue glass inserted in the decorative tail. The piece sits atop a 4 1/2 inch white milk glass lightning ball that is also very old and is held together by an actual antique lightning rod copper tip that has the original age patina. The entire piece is sturdily mounted on a 12 inch by 6 inch wood base that also adds to the beauty of the piece. The total height is 16 inches and the old arrow measures a full 18 inches from tip to tail. Collected from a barn in Pa. Vintage Antique Copper Eagle Weather Vane Estate find. This is a nice 3 dimensional Copper Eagle Weathervane. Because of the style as a full bodied piece it can be displayed in smaller spaces. The Eagle measures 16" from the head to the tip of the tail and the wing span is about 24" It is nicely viewed from all sides and has a nice patterned texture and features. Green verdigris copper finish, it has been soldered to the copper ball that you see in the picture and has a pole that extends down through the ball to fit into a stand. I have for sale an Antique or Vintage Lightning Rod Arrow Weathervane with what I believe is Amber Glass. This Arrow measures 21 1/2 inches long. The arrow itself I would say is in good condition for its age. I do not see anything broke but I do see right between the tip of the glass and where the lightning rod goes in where one of the little things comes out just the tip is missing-it would be close to the narrow tip of the glass. It has rust and pitting from age. As you can see in the photos the amber glass is original but there is a piece broke out of it. There also is a hairline crack in the glass-see photo. Antique 1890's Brass Iron Hollow Body Lightning Rod Running Horse Weathervane
Here we have for sale an antique hard to find 1890's brass hollow body two piece horse weathervane. The arrow is 24" long and made if cast iron. It has a twisted wire back which tells you it's an early piece. The horse is 11" long and 6" tall. It is made of two pieces of brass. Horse has a fair amount of the gold gilding still on it. There is some bullet damage that has been repaired with solder years ago. This vane didn't see a long life outdoors by the looks of it. It is an authentic antique piece that's for sure. This style running horse does not turn up often these days. What you see is what you get.

It is made of heavy cut out sheet metal and shows a native American complete with head dress and shooting a bow and arrow. It is riveted on one side with small brackets to create a holder for the pole. The weather vane is on a iron pole, there is a wood ball and the pole is mounted in a piece of burl wood. Nice original rusty patina, this is a great piece of original Folk Art, an original weather vane piece. The Indian figure measures 16.5" tall and is about 13" wide. Together with the pole and stand. Antique Vintage Copper Running Horse Weathervane Finial Topper Verdigris 31" L
This lovely old weathervane topper is made of two sheets of copper which have been formed on a mold to create dimension and detail. Then soldered together with ears applied. We found this handsome fellow in an old barn, covered with dust(cliche, but true! in New Hampshire. Displays beautifully. We had a hard time listing him as he does look amazing in our home! Okay onward. Measures: Horse is 28"L x 13 1/2"H. Total 14" H(with support bar) Support bar is 31" L x 1/2" Diameter Condition: Really good considering he's been sitting outdoors then in a dusty old barn for years. We expected. But don't see any dings/dents, but there might be a couple. There is a very nice greenish patina or verdigris forming. Vintage Antique Style Copper Horse Weather Vane Estate find. This is a very nice Copper Trotting Horse Weathervane. The owner, an antique collector, had this displayed on her fireplace mantel. It is in beautiful condition with a lovely copper color. It can be displayed nicely indoors or out. The Horse measures 24" from the head to the tip of the tail and is about 19" tall. The bottom support piece is 26" long. It is nicely viewed from both sides and has a nice patterned texture and features. Vintage Antique Lightning Rod with WeatherVane Barn Farm Primitive Garden Decor
This lightning rod with weathervane came off the barn at my dad's farm. It was removed many years ago and has been sitting in the barn for years. The ball is NOT made of glass like some antique rods. It appears to be plastic. The Lightning rod and weathervane feel and look like aluminum. There is some blue/green patina that suggests the possibility of copper, but I can't be certain. A long time ago, my dad had the metal roof painted with an aluminum paint which is now on the lightning rod(the ball is originally white) I have not done anything to clean it and will leave that to the new owner. Approx. 3 ft. tall. The main rod slides up and down in the tripod feet. Making it taller or shorter. I've selected up to 5 days for handling because I may need to custom make a box for it. Here we have for sale a blue milk glass lightning ball. It is embossed SHINN SYSTEM. Ball is dirty as found on a roof. No bb damage or cracks. Top collar is a little shorter than usual. It also has a chip but a cap will affix to it no problem. The bottom collar has a piece flaked off but otherwise is in good shape. It will fit a 5/8" tube rod. Good looking ball and tougher than the Shinn Belted version.

Selling an antique copper weathervane of a car. My parents bought this at an auction intending to install it on their garage roof and never did. The car is made from sheet copper soldered together. The directional arms appear to be copper as well. They affix to the steel vertical rod with set screws(included) The copper ball below that sits on a brass collar ring; it also has a set screw(included) The car is nicely balanced on the pole and swings freely; there is a copper tube at its center that extends downward several inches below; this slides over the top of the steel vertical rod. At one time building was a huge hen house, filled with the best egg laying chickens,or so I'm told.Building was converted into 4 unit apartments in 1955. About ten years ago I talked to a neighbor(he was about 80 then) he said he remembers that pheasant weather vane when it was a"chicken house" also said that a lot of weather vanes were chickens/roosters, but I guess the chickens didn't want their own kind, up there on the roof,then he laughed. Think its made out of aluminum& was hand painted, still see some of it. Hard to believe its that old, until you look at the metal screws, that's decades out in the weather. This shiny black rusted ancient piece is 9.25 ounces in weight. 8.5 inches in length and 3.6 inches in width and.75 inch depth. I am not sure what it was used for. My best guess is a weathervane pointer. It has some rust showing through the top layer of paint and obvious previous rust buildup that has been painted over in the past. This Amish looking horse& buggy was possibly meant to be a weathervane topper. The estate owner found more decorative use as it was painted black on one side with the natural grey. Pot metal on the other. Both sides are very detailed in the molding. Overall measurement is 14.5"long& 6.25"height. There are 2 holes at the base where it was to be mounted to an arrow. I have an original lightning rod arrow weathervane with green glass. This Arrow measures 21 1/2 inches long. The arrow is in good condition for its age. It has a small amount of rust and well pitted from age. I would consider this to be the original glass but could be wrong. It is not in good shape. Has been glued as seen in picture and is missing a small piece at corner. There is a gap where the glass and the framing do not match up well. Vtg Eagle Weathervane 30" Roof Mount Cast Aluminum? Country Farm Barn antique
Vintage Eagle Weathervane standing approx 30" tall. I believe it's cast aluminum but not 100% sure. It can be angled to mount on slanted roofs. This has been used& is a little weathered. Some paint loss especially on tail fin of arrow. The"N" directional is partially broken off. I still have the piece that broke off. Maybe an epoxy can put it back together? One of the globes has some dents& small holes. There are no marks indicating a maker or age. Nice old fashioned look, perfect for your country home!
