New Jersey. The tile measures 3" square and bears a glazed flower pattern on its face and the makers mark on its back. The tile is in very good condition for its age and having been used. It is in good condition. I was told that the aging leather top was repaced in the 1950's with the Mosaic Tile Top that is now there however this could be removed and replaced fairly easily. Up for Auction is this Beautiful Rare Victorian Lady Porcelain Tile Medallion? Lid? Cover? I cannot find anything like this anywhere. The old man who I purchased it from said he was not real sure what it came off of. He thought maybe it was some sort of lid. He said the person he bought it off of said it was from the late 1800s early 1900s. It does look like it has been in contact with some heat and it is numbered but I cannot read all of them. It has 2 surface cracks but they are not deep and Do Not take away from its beauty and character! It measures approx. 3" in diameter. This piece is just breath taking. So quite a mystery, perhaps Greatbatch saw the Simpson design and copied it ... morerather quickly so that the patent office were unaware of the provenance, it wouldn't be the first time, even Mintons registered older designs found in books. Good condition. Just the chip bottom right corner of note, just a few minor surface marks the mark on the main flower a spot of kiln dirty.
