This is a lot of rare 4 RARE Markel electric vintage sconces in exquisite original condition. They measure 1approximately 11.5" tall. And 4.5" wide and deep. One candlestick has some light staining, but I will send a reproduction stick as well. They are all original with original mounting hardware. Up for auction is a gorgeous pair of Vintage or Antique wall light sconces rewired and ready to use. I want to clarify that the arms on these sconces are absolutely 1920's over the top gorgeous original wall lamp arms. Someone has saved these beautiful arms and added the backers and frosted wheel cut glass globes. These are not 100% antique. They did a wonderful job and nothing looks muddled or forced. The golds match well and the top frosted glass shades are beautiful Art Deco style. The sockets and wiring are new and the mounting hardware is all new ready to use. This is a great re-purposing of two great lamp arms. They have not been repainted. They have the original two tone gold gilt finish and the casting is incredible. Nice pair of cast iron sconces from the early 1900s. Guaranteed old. Tough to find matching pairs that will accommodate the old gas station globes(6" w) They have been rewired so their ready to use. On the bottom side of one sconce it looks to be an old repair of some kind but I'm not sure why. There's no sign of any cracks or chips. Up for consideration is a fine set of 4 or 2 pair of Antique French Wall Sconces. The sconces date from about 1910 or so and measure 14 1/2 inches tall by about 10 inches by 5 inches deep. This set consists of 3 arms on each piece with great casting and super casting. As with good fine quality French Sconces they are cast in many separate pieces. The backplate consists of 3 separate pieces. There is a lacey bowtie top cascading down and tying into the top of the torch with descending bell flowers in the center body of the torch. Matching Antique Pair Gothic Style Wall Mount Iron Hand Hammered Sconces
Up for auction is a pair of antique sconces. These wall mount candle holders have a unique gothic look to them. Because they are handmade. There is some variation between the two as you assess from the photos. These had been wired for electrical lighting. Though removed, they could easily be reassembled for that purpose. The back of each has a gold color paint that covers most of the piece. This is not seen on the front and I do not think the front was ever painted. Each are stamped MADE IN SPAIN. A pair of solid brass girandoles. The bevelled oval mirrors surmounted by putti wearing turbans and flanked by more putti with palm leaves. Two candles supported on acanthus and foliage scrolls. Converted for electricity. Overall height about 13½" and just over 6½" wide. Project from the wall about 3½" Solid brass backs. When used as candle holders. The mirrors reflect the warm light beautifully. Where they have been converted to electricity. The wires are just about visible weaving around the arms. It would be easy to pull out the"new" candle sticks and use as originally intended. As candle holders. Otherwise I recommend changing this antique wiring.

The silvering on the mirrors is eroded a bit. And I don’t know if this was a deliberate on the part of Lion(their fixtures looked antique the day the left the factory) or is age-related. No matter, the effect is, I think, attractive. Poised delicately in front of the mirrors are two very charming flowers. Lovely. Surrounding the mirrors are rich designs in deep relief. There are crystal drops hanging from each bobeche. And a sweet amber drop in the center. The bulbs shown were the typical for the 1920s. PAIR! Antique FRENCH Victorian/Art Nouveau Brass Electrified Candle Sconces~PCCF
Pair of beautiful late Victorian or Art Nouveau electrified candle sconces in ornate brass. They are marked on the back with PCCF. And +++++ underneath. At first I had thought they were made for a church(and they may well have been) but some internet research found another piece with the PCCF markings. Skinner Auctions sold a French Art Nouveau fireplace screen marked PCCF and 151CC for $652 in June of 2011. So these are definitely high end sconces; substantial. Ornate and beautiful metalwork from all angles. They measure approximately 8-1/2" high. 6-1/4" deep, and 3" wide at candle cup. Probably made for candles. I believe someone has wired them. I have not tested them, though from the look of the wires, they have been used. They are marked in pen"R" and"L" on the back.

Another wonderful aspect of the chandelier is how totally original it is(see second image) Except for the new cloth wiring and sockets. Everything you see(including the glass finial, chain, and canopy) was there when the fixture left the factory! A HISTORICAL ANOMALY As you can see in the original Markel catalog image(see second image) The sconces listed here(see last three images) do not precisely match those in the catalog. They also have a Globe sticker(not Markel) Yes, this is very curious, indeed! The shades are clearly the same but the brass back-plate is different. My assumption is that Globe either sold their design to the much larger Markel Company(or Markel simply stole the design) which then redesigned the back-plate. Or, who knows what happened? Nonetheless, the sconces are unquestionably a match to the chandelier although the shade on the chandelier is shiny while the sconce shades are frosted. ABOUT THE 1940s: Just after WW II. Close observation of the detail shows that there is a right and left side to these carvings. These wall sconces are being sold as a pair only. Antique Pair Arts and Crafts,Spanish Hammered Copper Candlestick Wall Sconces
A pair of antique Arts and Crafts Wall Sconces. 920's-30's Hammered Copper Candlestick Holder mounted on a Iron-like crossarm wall bracket. I found these at a local sale. These are not marked and I have no idea who the marker is. Just looking at the contruction and feeling the weight of these sconces at 2lbs. ea.You'll be able to tell the quality right away. I totally took them apart and repainted the wall brackets, tested the sockets and the switches,One had to be replaced and unfortunatly it doesn't quite match the others, but on the good side the switch is hidden in the back of the fixture out of sight(see pic 5) I cleaned the copper dish on the candlestick holder as well as I could taking care not to damage the patina and verdigris. I replaced the socket cover with period dripping wax socket covers. These can be used both ... moreway either as Arts and Crafts or if you want the spanish influence you can use the trim escutcheon that mounts to the fixture with installation screw(see pic# 7) They take a standared base bulb up to 60 watts. The lighted pictures are with a 25 watt bulbs. I've tried to make to photos as true as possible These fixture have a weather look to them with the patina, verdigris and the weather iron treatment. Their dimensions are; backplate is 4 1/2"out from the wall is 5 3/4" width of the copper tray is 5" I have 4 and am selling them in sets of two. When you receive the fixture it will not have the trim on they will be lose in packed in the box and look like pic#8. Pair bronze full bodied winged cupid angels gas fixtures wall sconces Cupids are playing a lyre and seated on a winged wheel. On the back. Between the wing, there is an English registry mark, a diamond shape and one of the letters is an" I" which I believe signifies the year 1872. size: 9-1/2 inches from top of the wing to bottom of the wall plate Cupid in seated position is 6-1/2 inches high x 4 inches deep x 2-3/4" wide Round wall plate is 4 inches diameter From wall to end of piece is 5 inches Good detail. I did not clean it. There is tarnish as shown in photos Good condition. No breakage or repair and nothing is missing except possibly the area where a flame would have been(a jet) may be missing. I'm unfamiliar with gas adaptors and what may have been there to ignite it. PAIR OF ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS WALL SCONCES CANDLEHOLDERS ENGLISH? STUNNING HEAVY WELCOME. Up for bid are these wonderful solid brass wall sconces. They stand about 15" tall. There are three arms that fit into the body. With the arms installed the candleholder stands about 9-1/4" out from the wall and is 16" wide. We have not cleaned them up at all so they have an aged patina and some tarnish. A few small dings etc aquired over the years but no real damage. They should polish up to a shiny brass finish if so desired. I can find no makers marks on the sconces. The only issue is that they are missing the pins that secure the arms into the body. The arms fit in snugly but should have pins to swivel on. A couple of#10 X 5/8" flat head brass machine screws would be perfect replacements. And I will try to find some. Its really ... morenot necessary, but good to have in place. Normally we ship usps priority. These are quite heavy so we could explore other shipping options if desired. Thanks for looking!
