Also we prefer to restore rather than refinish. And do so whenever the opportunity presents itself. On occasions, when we find them in good condition, they often require total or partial rewiring. LIGHT FIXTURE FINISHES- BRASS FIXTURES All antique brass fixtures had a finish on them as originally supplied. Either paint or lacquer. In some cases, a plating was applied to all or parts of the brass before the lacquer was applied, giving the appearance of pewter or silver. Most brass fixtures we find are either long devoid of any finish. Or have multiple coats of wall or gilt paint. In these cases we usually polish the brass and give it a coat of lacquer. We do not over-plate with brass. Believing this gives it to"new" a finish) The lacquer allows the brass to develop the nice even patina over the years that come so highly prized. To leave the brass"raw" invites a splotchy finish. A dark oxidation mark wherever fingers touched the fixture in hanging, dusting, cleaning or changing light bulbs. Occasionally. Steel and iron replaced some of the less conspicuous components of a chandelier, such as a cover pan or a canopy. These were painted gold or brass color to blend in with the brass. For sale is a beautiful vintage/antique Milk Glass and Brass Art Deco Ceiling Light Fixture The milk glass shade on this fixture is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It measures approx. 8.5" in diameter. The brass base could use a good cleaning and does have some paint around the upper rim. That could probably also be cleaned off. The total light fixture measures 6.25" from the base to the bottom of the shade. There is no socket or no electrical wiring with this fixture. The Post Office was building a new branch on Baker Street on Corning's Northside. In order to accomodate the Post Office many old homes, some of them over 100 years old, had to be demolished. Some of the home owners were smart enough to sell off the fixtures, oak flooring, beautiful molding, windows, doors and heating registers. This beautiful glass globe is decorated with classic garland and wreaths. All popular around the turn of the century. Vintage Porcelier Antique Ceiling Light Fixture & Lg Glass Shade 1930's 40's
A beautiful 1930's or 1940's Porcelier ceiling light fixture. Includes the porcelain canopy with 3 original Porcelier sockets, pull chain is attached and works good, I think it is brass, fixture is ivory with gold trim, all gold trim intact, there is a spot of paint on the fixture as shown, a tiny spot is on the gold trim, needs rewiring and cleaned a bit. It has a raised leaf and bud pattern. The large 14 1/4" diameter shade is very thick glass, satin crystal color with raised pattern flowers, parts of which are clear. The shade is textures w/ small flowers in the frosted areas. On one raised flower there is a mfg flaw or possibly a chip/scrape, in my photo it is on the large petal to the lower left on the first half of the petal, a couple spots, very hard to see and quite insignificant. Here is a Gorgeous Antique School House Ceiling Pendant Light Fixture. These were from the 1920's and it has the original white milk glass globe. This Lamp was hard to measure but I tried my best. From the ceiling to the bottom of the light measures approx. 42 inches long. The actual globe itself measures approx. 14 inches tall by approx. 16 inches wide at the widest part. The chain is approx. 22 1/2 inches long(thats from the ceiling to the top of the light) The part that fits onto the ceiling is approx. 6 1/2 inches wide. This is an Oldy that needs some Love! It is marked"Underwriters Laboratories" It does show rust on the chain and all of the metal parts. There are also a few light scratches on the globe but nothing major. Lincoln Antique Art Deco Craftsman Light Chain Ceiling Chandelier Fixture Gothic
Here is a favorite bare bulb 3 socket light fixture from the 1930s. This fixture is a lightweight mixed metal frame and has been cleaned and rewired with new sockets and wiring. The fixture is restored with the original coloring Lincoln used. The pictures are with a flash. So this causes the greens and reds to be a shade brighter. The fixture is very warm with the Brass and Bronze mixed colors with a Gold base. The fixture hangs with three set of chains that lead to a bell and a single chain to the ceiling canopy. The chains have been painted and sealed with a satin clear and has some small paint chipping or nick on a couple of the links for description purposes only, is not clearly noticeable. The fixture has a single on and off turn power switch that will allow manual power if no switch is available. The style and as 5 matching shades suggests use with a ceiling light/ chandelier possibly as early as the 40's. As noted previously the shades were most likely used with a vintage/antique ceiling light. However. The 2 1/4-inch fitter makes the shades very versatile and can be used on sconces, bridge lamps, or ceiling fans- anything with a 2 1/4-inch shade holder. Each shade measures 4+7/8 inches high. The bottom edge outside diameter is 5 inches. The thickness of the glass is approximately(very close if not actual) 1/8 inch. The shades are in clean excellent condition. There is virtually no wear of the gold trim. There are no cracks or repairs. Both top and bottom edges ... moreare ground and are somewhat rough. The top edges have sort of a"nicking" affect around the outside perimeter as a result of grinding. The wiring and sockets appear to be in good shape and the pull switch has an audible, solid"click. The doughnut-shaped fixture at the base of each bulb unscrews easily for easy access. It measures a little over 10 inches long. 6 inches wide, and would extend about 3 inches from your ceiling. The floral design is raised and hand painted. Not a decal, which makes it very special. I know you will be satisfied with the lovely antique.

Antique Cast Iron Light Fixture, Wall Mount, Painted, Electrified; Early 1900s
This light fixture/sconce is electrified now and from the condition of the wiring has been for a long time. It may not have always been the case as it looks as if it could have originally been a candle holder. The bulb receptacle which is badly broken is relatively new and the cardboard holder into which it fits is badly torn. Neither are repairable and would need to be replaced. The fixture itself is a heavy metal. Cast iron I believe, and the white paint may cover other coats of paint. There is some surface rust mostly where the paint has chipped off. The length is about 9-1/2" and the fixture would stand out about 6" from the wall. This light fixture was acquired at an architectural salvage auction. This ceiling lamp shade came from an estate sale at an old country farm house. I do not know the age as I researched this item and could not find one exactly like it. It is quite heavy. Weighing a few ounces under 4 lbs. It measures 12" across and approx. 3.5" high. The design is beautiful with large clear bubbles around the outside center and clear bubbles along the edge. The main part is frosted with clear raised design of bubbles and raindrops. The inside frosted area is small raised dots which gives the outside appearance a unique look. Please note that there are some rough edges along the scalloped edges as well as rough edges along the hole where the hardware fits. There are also some minor chips along the scalloped edges but they do not show up unless looking very close. See all pics for a better description. Antique vintage Retro Underwriters Hanging Lab Lamp Light Fixture Mid Century
Discovered in a Northeast PA warehouse which had not been touched since the forties is this great lab hanging industrial style retro light. Measures 18 in diameter. It was manufactured by Underwriters Laboratories and has the original sticker. The old pull down with original ceiling attachment. Incredible mid century character. There are some small scrapes on the black area and some white paint spots which can be removed but I will leave that to the new owner. No dents Difficult to find these retro fixtures with their true character intact. I will be listing other lights from this collection

Antique Cast Iron Sconce Porch Lamp, Adjustable, 3.25" fitter, old Light Fixture
This is an old wall mount porch light fixture. This antique sconce lamp is made of cast iron with a porcelain socket. The back that gets mounted on the wall is 4 13/16 inches by 4 13/16 inches. The part that holds the socket is adjustable. The center of the socket can be between 4 inches and 6.5 inches from the wall. Something that you might adjust because of the diameter of your lamp shade. The porcelain socket works but should be rewired. The fixture will work with a lamp shade that is 3 1/4 inches across at the top of the opening, a standard fitter size. We have shown an example of a shade in the photos(shade not included) Most of the light fixture is covered with old black paint. This is a heavy old light fixture with a simple but decorative pattern. It can be mounted with the shade pointing up or down.

I believe that it is made of bronze because the magnet does not attract and it has a good heavy weight to it.
