This lot of hinges would be great for a person renovating an old house and needs some nice matching hinges. Marked 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" Good old vintage cast iron is stronger and harder than the new soft stuff they use in modern reproduction hinges. Likely cast in the last 1880's to the early 1900's. The acorns are nickel on brass and it has worn some in places and the brass shows through in some areas. These have a nice smooth. Clean casting. The pins are loose and removable. These hinges are ready to go and swing for the next 100 years.

Up for auction today are two very ornate Victorian Art Deco style door hinges. The hinges are very ornate on the pins. Front and back portion that would be exposed when installed. They measure 5” by 5” when open and 1/8” thick. Total height including the pins is 8” The only markings are 5 x 5 on the backside. It appears that they were bronze/ copper plated at one time. But most of the plating is missing. There is some tan paint in spots and a little bit of surface rust– no pitting. And actually have a bevel cast into the flat portion of each hinge, which I find very interesting. As a contractor, I used to chisel a slight bevel into the recess for hinges in order to prevent'binding' when closing the door, in case the frame wasn't quite true. Common in old houses. These hinges have that little trick built in, pretty neat! They have some paint on them. Not much, it scrapes off pretty easy, and a little work with a wire wheel and they look awesome!

Antique Victorian Cast Iron 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" Door Hinges Steeple Pins
These are Victorian-era door hinges of cast iron in good working condition. There is one pair for sale in this auction. Each hinge measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and is marked on the reverse side. There is damage to the bottom of the steeple on each hinge pin. As can be seen in the third photograph. The tops are still tight to the pin. There is also a casting flaw on the edge of one leaf. It does not appear that it would affect the strength of the hinge. They have been cleaned of paint but have not been recoated and are the last of this pattern in my inventory.

Antique Pyrography box with wood burning flowers and girl on it, WIZARD hinges
This is an original pyrography wood burned box with the Wizard hinges intact and one is very readable. Wizard. F. Grammes& Sons, Allentown PA. Age of this box is unknown. But the original owner was born in 1890. She wrote her name on the inside lid in pencil, Mabel Blohm. It appears to be the writing of a child. The box is in excellent condition, minus the handwritten name in pencil. My mother used it to store her lipstick, and there are some red lipstick stains on the inside of the box, not the lid. There are also some pencil figuring on the bottom that is slightly readable, one number is 1916, perhaps the year she obtained this box. A treasure. Let it be yours. Posted with

Antique Wood Sextant Box with Brass Lock and Hinges No Sextant or Key Got an older sextant. But not the box that it came in. Well this may just be the finishing piece you are looking for your collection. A sextant with an old box is worth much more than a sextant by itself, eh? This sextant box is unique in that it has a lock on it and it is made of brass. There is no key, but check out how around the key hole there is an inlaid brass piece. Wow! There is no makers mark on the lock mechanism. My guess is the case is made of mahogany. You be the judge. The case does have some splits on the top piece. A small one at the pointed corner of the arc. One that goes from one side to the other(7.5" and then one that is about 1.5" at the other point of the arc. Box still has its' integrity. There are some finish issues. Most notably some ... moreblackening on one corner of the arc side. The latches and rings are on the sextant box. They look appropriate to the the box with the exception of the latch on the lock side. The case is 10-1/8" by 11.5" by 2-3/4" By 10-1/8" across the arc) The box is 4" tall. Antique Victorian icebox lock catch hinges vintage cast brass ice chest hardware
I have a nice set of ornate Victorian Eastlake cast brass icebox hardware for your consideration. Includes three nice hinges that open and close smoothly. Measure 4 1/8 x 2 inches. A nice large surface rim lock with ornate Eastlake patterning. Hinged handle, and latch. measures 4 5/8 x 2 3/8 inches. It works nicely as well although there is no key for locking mechanism. As well, there was a repair on the right hinge pin. Looks like it was replaced with a brass pin. As the original would have been iron. There was a small amount of grinding marks where the repair was. Not very noticable but I wanted to make you aware. See last two pics closely. And a nice hard to find matching catch for latch. All are cast brass with no cracks or breaks. The back service panel on lock is iron and has a date June 28th 1887. Hard to read date. 5 pieces in this ... moreset. Nice set for renovated furniture, cabinet, or cupboard as well. I had been told they are for an old icebox. there is a couple latches. one is missing the latch mechanism. all are in good as found condition. there is none that are broken or repaired. This lot consists of a variety of furniture and door hardware. The latches are in good working condition. The large hinges measure 3 1/8" x 3 1/4" and are made of tranished brass. I suspect these hinges may have been used on a ice box? Some of these pieces have rust stains and paint residue.

The hinges move freely and the steeple top pins come out easily. I believe the black paint is original. The chrome plated steeple tops have some old varnish and a few have some minor rust.
