This beautiful hand made box features a pyrographic wood-burned pattern of a large poppy flower on the cover and leaves on the side. The box has an ornate brass latch and brass hinges. The artist's name"A.L.W" is carved on the back. There is another mark on the bottom which is not legible. The box is in good condition with minor surface wear. Its dimensions are approximately 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" It is a well made box with beveled edges on the cover. And it closes securely. Pr Antique Victorian Iron door hinges
Offered for auction is this pair of iron fancy decorated door hinges. Wonderful scrolled design with the background stippled. Pins that hold the hinge together have a nice steeple like shape. Reverse side of hinges are marked 3 1/2 x 3 1/2. This corresponds to the dimensions of the hinges. You get yourself a nice set of wood screws and paint them black and they'll fit right in and look like the original screws. These are heavy hinges so probably useful for a moderately heavy door. Hinge has a little more than a 270 degree motion from completely closed to full open. That's a little more than 3/4 or a complete circle. You need these for your Victorian home renovation project.

Eight old steel barn door hinges. Uncleaned with various paint and patina. Five are matching but one has an extra hole drilled in it. One of them has a bent strap but could be straightened easily. The straps for these measure 7 3/4" from the hinge point, each weighs 1 3/4 lbs. The three smaller hinges have straps just under 6" long from the pivot. One of these is frozen and will require a little"love" These are dirty and rusty but with no visible damage other than noted. Please see my other listings for more old hinges and hardware. Set Of 3 Large Antique Barn Shed Door Hinges, Gate, Primitive, Iron, Vtg, Marked
Three big old heavy door hinges. Each weighs nearly 2 lbs. These have a bend and I think they were designed to be mounted as they are seen in my first picture, with the long strap on top of the rectangular base when door is closed. None of them lay completely flat when closed like this, however, so maybe the base is supposed to be mortised into the frame. There appear to be markings under the old paint out near the point of the strap that might be PW 038, but I'm not sure. All three turn as they should but need to be lubed or have the rust worked out of them. I haven't cleaned them whatsoever and leave it to the new owner whether they should be or not. The straps are 9 1/2" long, the rectangular base is 5 1/2" by 1 3/4" Neither measurement includes the pivot/pin part. These are the offset type of hinges not the flush. They are nickel plate over brass. Some of the plating has worn off in a couple places(see last pic) Showing the brass underneath. Three of the hinges swing freely. One opens only part way, not all the way back. You would still be able to open the door wide, it simply would not fold back. Possibly a little DW 40 may loosen the rivet. That said, the hinges measure 3 ¾ long by 1 ½” at the hinge and 2” at its widest side piece. The hinges have an elaborate design that looks Celtic or French. The hinges will need a cleaning and screws. The backs of both parts are A 317. I have a very nice lot of large hard to find door hinges for your consideration. Measure 5 x 5 inches. Condition is very good where the hinges pivot smoothly and pins remove. There are some minor scuffs and dings consistent with there age. I believe these to be Norwalk Lock Company manufacture circa 1885. Not certain of maker but are late 19th century. These were probably used at a large Victorian entrance door that was not used much. Some catalog makings on back where I rubbed a little and started to glow. Excellent quality brass. See pics. Antique Wooden Dovetailed Document Box or Candle Box - Brass Hinges
Here we have an antique wooden dovetailed document box or candle box. from the late 1800's. the wood is walnut. the overall size is 11 inches long by 7 3/4 inches deep by 4 1/4 inches tall. the small hand cut dovetails are tight and secure. it has a lock and keeper( see photos 7& 8) but no skeleton key. it has formed a wonderful golden patina over the superb grain lines. there are two brass hinges securing the lid. a few small square headed nails secure the box. you can see a close up of the dovetails in photos 2. 3, and 4. the top of the lid is in photo 1& 9, and the bottom of the box is in photo 10. there is a small hairline on the lid( see enlarged photo 12) see plenty of detailed photos. 2 Large Primitive Antique Hand Forged Iron Barn Door Grain Bin Stable Hinges
This set of 2 old iron hinges have an unusual curved design and probably were made for a stable. Barn or possibly a large grain bin. Each hinge measures 18 1/2- 19" tall x 16-17" wide when open( 8ish" when closed) is hand forged so the lengths vary and is curved into a horse shoe type shape. The curved portions are 1" wide( mostly) and the centers that meet at the pin are 2" wide. Close examination will show how the width varies, the curves flatten and the thickness wavers- and the last photo best shows the old mustard/gold color they were painted. Some parts of the flat sections are 1/4" thick, others less. These pieces are heavy( 4 pounds each) so the total weight might make shipping expensive, and I SHIP ONLY TO THE USA! Paypal preferred. Has all the hardware or brackets. all steel. all in working order. Has 2 brackets for sliding the lift opener up and down. 1 bracket to attach to window for opening. This has a steel tab which hooks in the slid opener rod. hinged rod attached secure and works fine. has the 2 finger release clamp in working order. still has tension. rod slides through the clamp. the bottom of lift opening rod has the flat finger hold for opening. All of these parts are steel and in working order. all are painted white and a few layers. the window has both hinges. the half side of hinge is 1" x 2 1/2" long. both work and have the original pins. These are designed to be used shiny side out on an outward or upward opening application. They are genuine quality period items. Very well made from Solid Sheet Brass and not reproductions or recent copies. The Steel Nuts are very tight on their Threaded Fittings and will need easing to remove. All the Threads look to be in good order. The Rivets are not fixed to the Hinges but are physically a separate entity and so could be changed for normal Brass Screws if desired. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of 8" Antique Steel Surface Mount Barn Door Strap Hinges. Distressed. Antique, door strap hinges salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. They were made sometime during the first quarter of the previous century. Each hinge is made of solid steel and is painted on the exterior side. Although the hinges look white in photos, they are actually painted light grey. Both hinges are in great shape with only small nicks here and there. But no breaks, cracks, or chips. One of the hinges has some rust and pitting, which only enhances it's distressed look. Here I have a set of antique acorn tip cast iron hinges and a slide bolt. The slide bolt catch is different on the back then the bolt part. But they came together. Hinges are 3 x 3/1/2. Slide bolt is 4" Both in great shape. I leave the cleaning to the buyer. I would hate to ruin them by cleaning them myself.
