Up for bid is a beautiful antique. Cast iron Japanese lantern on a cast iron crooked limb style base. The lantern stands 34 inches tall and is quite heavy. There is some rust but nothing that effects the structural integrity of the piece. I have been selling on ebay since 1999 and this is only the third lamp of this style I have found. This lamp is much older and of higher quality than the previous two. The door that is supposed to be on the lantern is missing. It is dirty, but,There is NO DAMAGE OR REPAIR. This lantern is not marked made in Japan, there is no makers mark that I can find. The other two I had were marked with made in Japan cast into the bottom of the pagoda style roof, I assume this was cast in Japan also, it is very old, probably 1930's. Pr. 24" ANTIQUE IRON HINGES-Blacksmith Forged- Barn Door Hinge-Garden-Farm-Gate
Offered today is a pair of old hand-forged hinges which are approx. 24" long and 2" wide at the widest point. Complete with 2 mounting pintles which are approx. 9" long. They are embellished with beveled edges and the classical"bean ends" These hinges were hand forged one at a time and show typical. Slight variations-i.e. there is a 3/16" difference in the length of the hinges and approx. 1/2" difference in the length of the pintles(which will be in the wall) They have been lightly cleaned and painted and show a little light pitting on the front and heavier pitting on the backside-not visible when installed. These blacksmith made hinges have forge-welded pintle holes and hot punched bolt holes-1 square and 2 round holes on each. Many possible uses around the house, farm, shop, vineyard, or garden, etc.

Antique Forged Iron Farm Garden Row Stake Pole Tool Plant Rope Guide primitive I believe these are antique garden stakes or poles used to make straight planting rows in the garden. The forged iron stakes were used by a real English gardener on a wealthy estate in New Jersey during approx. 1940s-60s. The estate featured a farm and employed a blacksmith for decades. Therefore most likely these were forged on the farm at some point. Both stakes feature a spear at the bottom, one having an"eye" at the top and the other a"grid" to wrap the rope around- the grid is free to spin around, making winding up the rope easy. The simple stake measures 26" long and the larger one measures 28" long. The rope may be original, however I'm not certain. A nice and weathered cast stone garden bench. Bench is 19th century. Bases may be early 20th century. As they do not look as weathered as the top.
