Vintage, entry door lockset made by"Yale" of Stamford, CT during the second half of the previous century. It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with a brass faceplate, 1 brass anti-theft collar, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 steel split spindle with a setscrew for connecting the knobs, and all 12 installation screws to fasten all parts to the door. All brass parts are solid brass, not plated steel. This is a high-quality, commercial-grade lockset. There was no mortise cylinder included with the set. This is the round. Barrel-like piece that goes into the lock, above the knob on the exterior side, and engages the lock once a key is inserted into it and turned. You could pick one up, brand new, with 2 keys at your local locksmith or hardware store for less than $20. T he mortise lock is locked by pushing the bottom button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either turning the interior knob or using a key(once mortise cylinder is installed) Once you turn the interior knob or key and open the door, if you do no not press the top button on the lock's faceplate, the lock stays in the"locked" position and the exterior knob cannot turn. This set is in excellent ... morecosmetic and mechanical condition with only the typical signs of wear and use. Although the design on the lock and door plates are often refered to as the"Ceylon" pattern. That name was limited to the knob design seen with this set. This set includes a matching strike plate that has been opened up a bit, but otherwise looks fine. The switch on the face plate of the lock allows the door to be closed in a prelocked position and the included latch bolt key is needed to properly utilize this feature. The set includes one bronze faced reversible entry mortise lock. Two"Ceylon" pattern knobs, one large door plate and round knob escutcheon, matching strike plate, single keyhole cover, and both the latchbolt and deadbolt keys. Also included is a reconditioned knob spindle with new set screws. The set screw holes have been deburred so the screws turn in easily. This is a very nice functioning lock set ready to be installed. The mortise lock's backset to the keyhole is 2 5/8" and the face plate is 6 13/16" tall x 1" wide. The lock box is 4 5/8" tall x 5/8" thick x 3 9/16" deep. The large door plate is 7 1/4" tall x 1 15/16" wide. The knobs are 2 1/4" in diameter. The round escutcheon is 2 1/8" in diameter, the strike plate is 4 1/4" x 15/16" and the keyhole cover is 1 3/4" x 1 1/8" If your going to spend real money on a vintage lock set you should expect no broken or missing pieces. A look inside the lock box, pieces that have not been abraded and diminished by sand blasting and at a minimum the ability to make a return. I have had this trunk for about 15 years and it has provided great storage and looks beautiful in my living room. The iron and internal structure are in great condition and definitely original. This is a rare piece. I was not the purchaser. However, and therefore I do not have any information about its age and origin. It is definitely old and original though. Here is a delightful and somewhat unique antique solid mahogany corner cabinet with large carved column design on it's two front doors and in a smaller size. Perfect for any home, apartment or business needing additional storage in a sturdy locking cabinet with a total of three blind shelves within. This cabinet was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh. Scotland and is a nice mid-size piece, standing 63 inches tall and measuring 23 1/2 inches wide across it's widest point. The set was salvaged from a 1926 commercial building* at 334 Carondelet St. in New Orleans in preparation for a planned condo conversion. These doors and windows are heavy. Commercial grade, and unusually tall. They are in excellent condition and have been stripped and cleaned. They were previously described as pine- corrected here as cypress. In addition to the cypress/glass set, a single set of solid cypress French Doors is shown in the first photo. These may be purchased separately. This antique mahogany armoire dresser. In very good antique condition and with few signs of wear, is circa 1900(it might be a few years older) and features four(4) drawers—two upper and two lower—and a 2-door armoire cabinet area with 2 adjustable shelves. All drawers and doors have orignal brass pulls and knobs. The interior 2 shelves are not original, as they were missing and I added these(I have no knowledge of what happened to original shelves) The armoire/ dresser is structurally sound and aesthetically beautiful, with a nice warm medium to dark wood tone The overall wood condition is very good, with one small exception: on the right side of the armoire/dresser, there is a 1.5-inch long area where the veneer is raised slightly(it's hard to spot, but see bottom part of last photo) This can easily be glued down. This is certainly a beautiful quartered quarter sawn oak hall bench. Unusual in design as most had a lift top seat under which you could store your boots. Gloves or whatever. This model has instead two doors under the seat to gain access to the storage area. This is only the second hall seat I have ever had with this design. We have refinished this piece and it is in excellent condition with a smooth and even finish. Nice size at 37 wide, 19 deep, and 35.5 high. Offering to you today. A most beautiful painted porcelain plaque of Our Blessed Mother. This is a large plaque and finely painted. The back is incised K334. I believe this was meant to be a home shrine icon. The frame has 2 doors which open up to reveal Our Lady's painting. I believe the frame is made of bronze, but possibly brass. I have not cleaned it and ti does have some verdigris. The frame has lovely details, such as cherubs and a cross. It is also impressed with the number 1.2, although I do not know what the significance of this is. If you search Ebay under religious/icons for Russian icon porcelain painting($3000) or altarpiece porcelain plaque($3200) You will find 2 others similar to mine. Mine is larger. And also priced to sell more quickly(veterinarian bills are adding up) This also is priced lower to reflect that the frame ... moredoes not have a back to it.If you view the other 2 icons I mentioned, you will see that the leg is just a simple leg, and I can see on the back of my frame where the hinge is, where the leg was attached but broke off. COME ON OVER AND PICK THIS UP VERY SOLID Classic CORNER CABINET in Havre de Grace Maryland Up for auction here is a wonderful antique corner cabinet that is ready to be in your home and not ours. I also have several other things listed you might be interested in. Check them out. Refinished in 1942 by Ramsay's Hobby Shop- Pattern Glass. Antiques, Old Coins York PA. we shined it up in 2014 with a little wax and that's all it needed. It is wonderful. Cup Boards like this are always tough to measure. Hopefully we didn't forget anything. It will fit in a corner where both walls are a min. of 38-1/2" Across the widest part of the front is 55" It is 88-1/2" tall. It will stick out about 32" from the corner of the wall to front face. 2 doors with 6 panes of old wavy glass. The glazing is good. But not perfect. All ... morethe glass is in there soundly. Inside the top, there are 2 fixed shelves plus the bottom(so let's call it 3 shelves) Space between each is 18" 11-1/2" and 14-1/2" with a depth inside of 20" and the center back panel is 16" across. Shelves are 1" thick with 2 groves on the sides for plates. The center shelf has cut outs for hanging 12 spoons, neat detail. The bottom section houses 2 drawers. Inside measurements are 12" wide x 3" deep. You can see in the pics the huge dovetail construction. The backs of the drawers are angled to get a little more space. Sorry ran out of ebay pics to show that. The bottom has a 1" thick center shelf plus bottom of course. 12-1/2" and 12" height on these spaces. As you can see in the pics. The cabinet is in nice condition with lots of age and some minor flaws. certainly from turn of the century or earlier. We have paperwork and a b&w photo from 1942 that shows the transfer sale of this piece on Sept 12 1942 to Mr. Earl Bean of Pikesville, MD. Sorry we don't know its original owner. Description This is an antique American Victorian commode from the 1870s. It is made of a walnut wood in original finish and very clean.
