Antique Ornate Steel Door Knob Set with Plates in VG Condition
This auction is for an Antique Ornate Steel Door Knob Set with Matching Plates in very good condition. The Steel knobs measure about 2 1/4 inches in diameter and show light normal wear i.e. light scratches but no dents. The knobs have a brass rim and were probably brass or copper plated(brass wash) originally.some of the copper or brass plating remains. The set comes with the plates. Connecting rod and both set screws. I will be selling most of my hardware collection including several ornate brass and steel sets so please see my other listings.I will combine shipping. 1890s Antique Door Knob Back Plates PAIR Fancy Victorian Brass/Copper? AS IS
Here is a good pair of door knob plates. They do match altho it may be hard to tell because of the paint on the 1. I'm guessing these are brass but the one that is stripped is more of a copper color, neither is magnetic. This same design is on homes around here from the 1890s up to about 1910. The length is 5 13/16 in. x 1 15/16 in. They will be carefully packed& sent in a box. Questions welcome.

The finish is worn but all components are fully functioning. I have for sale a pair of antique door knobs and Escutcheon metal back plates that cover the key holes. No hardware or keys come with it. Just what you see in the photos.These knobs are from my child house I grew up in in the Short North/Victorian Village in Columbus, Ohio. Although I'm not a professional Restorer, I cleaned them without chemicals, I removed off layers of paint. It appears to be a ring of brass on the metal door plates. The black porcelain door knobs haves some scratches on them. I have some before pictures listed also to give a general ideal of it's previous condition.
