Antique Cast Brass Kenrick & Sons Door Knocker. Cherub & Musical Decoration.
This cast brass door knocker measures 8.50" long x 1.50" wide. It is marked A. Kenrick& Sons No. 425 and there is a lozenge mark that I cannot decipher. The front has a Cherub playing a horn. And there are musical motifs on the base plate. The brass can be seen on the back but the front of the knocker has more of a coppery brown colour. The screws on the back are modern replacements. Will be sent 2nd class within the U.K. This item weighs almost 1 kilo. So International postage is expensive.

Old antique Victorian reclaim solid brass Acorn door knocker Rd kite mark 1876
Here we have an old antique Victorian reclaim solid brass Acorn door knocker. It measures about 12.5 x 7.5cm( 5" x 3" in size, the back knocker plate has three holes as fixing points, to the rear of the plate as shown in pictures 3 and 4 it has the kite mark registration which is No4 at the top for the 4th day of the month- the letter M at the bottom for the month of June- a No5 to the left which is what is known as the parcel- and to the right we believe it to be a letter V although not to clear which would put it in the year 1876- and Rd in the centre, there are other marks above it various numbers as shown in picture 4, we have not cleaned it up so the condition very good reclaim condition with good coloration

William Morris French Antique 1760’s Hand Door Knocker– Antique Hardware Every great house in France has had one on its main door since the late Middle Ages– a knocker in the shape of a woman’s hand. Extending from a lacy cuff holding a ball or a fruit. Traditionally. The hand has a ring on one of the fingers and it symbolizes the respectability of the house that is the married woman’s domain. This one dates from the mid 1760’s– from when the house it adorned was built- and is made of black cast iron. It is complete with all of its original hardware– which is rare and still works very well. The details of the hand such as the frilly cuff. The ring on the middle finger and the nails on the fingers show that it was a very high-end piece. The hand measures 7 inches ... morefrom fingertips to pivot which is solid and rotates well. The knocker piece is worn flat from use during the past 250 years. Antique. Large brass lion's head, door knocker. Beautiful oval door knocker with lion's head back plate in deep relief. Measures– 6” longest. 3.5” width and 1” deep Wonderful natural dark patina with a tinge of green here and there. Giving the buyer the option to polish or not. I can just make out part of the letters of ENGLAND on the underside of the knocker- see photo. The final photo of lion's head in profile. Close up, gives the best impression of true colour on my monitor, dark brown with a hint of gold coming through. It was very hard to get a true colour, it is quite dark but does not have the reddish colour of most of the photos A real weighty and sturdy item– 680g or 1.5 lbs. I did some on-line research to try and date it. An exact same knocker sold(price not given) in the US and was described as circa 1950. A UK specialist ... moreclaimed 1930 with a price tag of £150. Also sold. There was one for sale a few weeks ago with a price tag of $200, the description said French early 1900s. From the impressed letters it has to be English. Of interest to the collector or anyone looking for a quality item. I'm sure they don't make them like this anymore. Condition is best assessed from the photographs but I will mention that there is a little bit of play on the hinge. I can't say much more about this but I can provide more photos if you need them.
