Nice antique door knobs. There are 2 knobs with the shaft attached. Plus 2 backplates/ door plates with skeleton keyholes in them. There is no key. There are also no marks or maker's name that I can find. Each backplate is about 7- 1/4" long x 2- 1/4" wide. The door knobs, with the shaft, are about 6- 1/2" from outside knob to outside knob. You are bidding on a MIX LOT OF 6(SIX) VINTAGE ANTIQUE GLASS DOOR KNOBS. I'm not sure what the age is on these. The knobs measure approximately 1 3/4” to 2 7/16” wide. The knob in front of the quarter has a base that is magnetic while the others are none magnetic possibly brass or bronze. The two that are paired up have their set screws that turn freely and tighten. There appear to be no cracks on the knobs but there are some small scratches and some scuffs. There is one very small chip on one of the knobs pictured furthest right. I did not try and clean them. I’ll leave the cleaning to the professionals. Nice patina! All taken from a replacement door out of a very old home. All are original. The knobs have no breaks or chips but paint. Scratches/scuffs are noticeable. The key holes covers are all brass and they have paint as well as scuffs and two came out of this and the third is included and matches too, just off a diff door. One key hole cover that came off this piece was put on wrong so the stencil is really nice on this one. Includes two brass plates, one is on the shank in picture, one is off. 12 pairs antique round glass door knobs Chrome shanks- silver coloured Circa 1900 Measure 5cm x 5.5cm Excellent condition Twelve pairs of antique round glass door knobs. Circa 1900s. They have wonderful mercury mirrored centres and are incredibly tactile. They come complete with the original grub screws and connecting bar. These are more suited to mortise locks. The chrome plated shanks have been cleaned and given a moderate polish so they don't gleam like repros. They have a brass base which is just peeking through in places. 2 Antique Door Lock Units,w.Glass knobs(1 "Penn") with keys
I purchased these 2 antique door lock units at an estate sale and I know nothing about these things. So what you see you get. One has"Penn" stamped on it, and appears to be in used condition, whereas the other unit looks like new-old stock. All have glass knobs. One of the knobs has a chip off of it, but the other 3 look OK. Both locks have the keys. The brass plates where in the same box lot, so I'll include them with these, although I don't know if they came with these originally. They look like they'll fit. Winning bidder pays shipping. Threaded spindles, back plates, mortise locksets, strike plates, and a fair amount of brass screws in a few different sizes and shapes. They only thing not included in this collection are the Skeleton Keys for the locksets. As with most antique hardware and knobs, these pieces have old white paint on them.some just a spot or two, others a a full brush stoke. The paint is easy to remove from the knobs and the face plates. There are four door knobs being offered or 2 sets of 2 knobs. There is only one connector rod. But finding another should not be difficult. Each door knob is hand painted with a floral ... morespray and finished in a burgundy rose color with gold detailing. There is a brass plate affixed to the back of each knob. Each knob measures 2 1/2 in diameter and 2 1/8 in depth. The set of four, with the connector rod, weighs 925 grams(a little over 2 lbs) There are two problems with the set- a large chip to the side of one of the knobs and a paint blob on the side of another knob plus a bit of other paint, fairly minor. The chip could be repaired by a ceramics repair service and the paint could also be removed. In addition to these two problems, there is some light wear/scratching to the paint on the sides of the knobs, but this is quite minor and to be expected- the painted flowers are all in very good condition. UP FOR AUCTION IS A CORBIN MORTISE DOOR LOCK IT HAS 2 KEY HOLES AND BUTTONS AND DEAD BOLT ON SIDE, The deadbolt is thrown by the lower keyhole from either side of the door. The split spindle allows the doorknobs to rotate independently and the buttons on the lock face provide an additional independent level of security(with or without the deadbolt) Pushing one button in keeps the outside doorknob from turning(the strike will not retract) You can still open the door by the interior doorknob. With the buttons in this position you can enter the house using a skeleton key in the upper keyhole. It retracts the strike and you would simply push the door open. Pushing the other button in allows both doorknobs to rotate so the door can be opened from either side. I do not have keys for the upper or lower keyhole function. Beautiful antique iron door lock set with what I believe are porcelain knobs. The knobs could use a good cleaning. And the lock set has minor rust, but it has an ornate design on it which is beautiful. It also has"PATENTED JULY 21, 1863, and BLW for Branford Lock Works, out of Branford, CT, as well as other locations) This possibly was made around 1886. It is quite large, measuring 6" x 3-5/8" x 7/8" deep. There is a small pull out lever below and to the side of the knob, that has a hole in it. I'm not sure of its purpose. It also looks like it may have been a double lock, but the lower"dead bolt" piece is missing. Please e-mail any questions you may have before bidding. My eBay name says it all.liquidators. I was an eBay seller back in 2000 and I sold to meet a financial goal. Life has a way of taking over such that when my goal was hit my inventory just sat in storage. Well. I have to admit not only did it sit but over the years I have added to it. Due to my fiancé in all likelihood having to move overseas due to work in 2015 and me tagging along I HAVE TO liquidate my inventory. And yes, I have that much that I need to start now. My prices will be rock bottom due to the amount of items which need to be sold. This lock set was salvaged from a turn of the century home in the Northeast. It features a Corbin mortise ... morelock with steel circle motif doorknobs and two steel back plates. The back plates are signed Pat. July 17 1900. These pieces were covered in layer upon layer of paint and I have done my best to get most of it off but just as a note there is still some surface rust and paint. The screws for the doorknobs are missing and can be easily replaced. The dimensions are as follows: back plate:7 3/4" by 2 1/2" lock case: 3 5/8" rear length. 3 1/4" depth(including faceplate) 1/2" width backset: 2 1/2" faceplate: 5 3/8" by 15/16" The shipping and handling are free. French Antique Brass Door Knob Set. Here for sale are a matching pair of French brass door knobs. The knobs are in good condition and have been polished. They come complete with the bar's knob pins. There is a ding to one knob( see pic No 2) around the spigot part where its fixing hole area is. This knob is the free floating adjustable one and has some free play in it too. But nothing that will affect its operation. The knobs can be adjusted to suit the door width by moving one knob along the 6mm square bar and reinserting the fixing pin. Extra holes could be drilled if necessary. They would make a great addition to any building restoration. Dimensions: The distance between the knobs( adjustable length) is from 68mm- 47mm. The oval part is 51x23mm. NOTE: These knobs have a 6mm square bar. So please make sure that you check that they will ... morefit your lock's square hole. Antique White Porcelain Door Knobs With Rod and Two Set Screws
A throwback to yesteryear. This White Porcelain Door Knob set has 2 knobs, 1 rod, and two set screws. The knobs measure 2 1/4" in diameter and 1/2" thick. They are of unknown age. But the shape of the knobs and how they are attached to their bases suggests that they have quite a history. They are smooth in the hand with a few rough spots and discolorations that old porcelain can get. One of the knobs has a divot and some superficial cracking on the top and the bottom, please see photos) and there is a small bit of paint on the metal. Still this is a beautiful and functioning piece of American history that is complete with both hard to come by original set screws. Antique Glass Door Knobs 1 Amethyst/1 Clear w/Faceplate Rod & 1 Set Screw
Up for auction is a beautiful. Vintage, leaded-glass doorknob set that was part of my grandfather's estate. The set consists of 2 knobs, one face-plate, one rod and one set screw. This set has one light purple, or amethyst glass knob with raised floret in the center, and one clear glass knob with raised floret in the center. The glass in both knobs is clear and smooth except for one very superficial scratch, a few bubbles and a rough spot on the clear one. I found them while taking the extreme close-up photos, see last photo) but then had a hard time finding them with my eye. The knobs measure 2" in diameter and both have brass bases. One has a lovely light purple hue indicative of time and exposure to the sun. It has a tiny bit of paint and a little corrosion on the base. The clear knob has some paint and a little corrosion on the ... morebase. It also has its original set screw. The face-plate is brass. Measures 5 3/4" high, and has paint over most of the front side. The paint chips off easily. It would be an excellent candidate for restoration as it appears that the paint preserved the brass. The brass is in very good shape. This set is a lovely piece of working American history. Ideal for any restoration project. Or it would be great for a collector.
