Penn Antique Restoration. Antique RHC Eastlake Entry Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Keys Wonderful. Antique, exterior door lockset made by the"Reading Hardware Company" of Reading, Pennsylvania during the late 1800's. The set includes 2 bronze knobs, 1 bronze escutcheon, 1 bronze rosette, 1 bronze keyhole cover, 1 bronze thumb turn, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate and 2 working keys, 1 bronze strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. All bronze parts are solid bronze not plated iron. The lock is reversible and could accommodate either a right or left swing door. All bronze parts have lovely. Aesthetic(Eastlake) style designs consisting of flowers, leaves, wagon-wheels, beads, and various geometric shapes. We found the parts with a rich. Original patina, which we opted not ... moreto disturb. If you prefer your hardware bright and shiny, we could clean and polish all parts prior to shipping for an additional $25-email us after the auction if you're interested. The base of one of the knobs is slightly pushed into the back of the knob. As a result. The knob is 1/8" shorter than the other, and there is a shallow, circular depression(see close up photo of knobs) Once installed, the only way you could see the depression is by pressing your head against the door and looking behind the knob, so it will be pretty hard to notice unless you're looking for it. There are a few small. Dents on the strike plate, but otherwise, all parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, gouges, or deep scratches. The details are sharp and show few signs of wear. The lock was opened, inspected, and greased to function more smoothly. We made 2 keys to operate the lock, and we could make more for $8/key-email us after the auction if you are interested. It's tough to find complete. Antique sets in such fantastic condition. Heavy-duty, antique, door locksets made by"Yale& Towne" of Stamford CT around the turn of the previous century. Each set consists of 2 iron knobs, 2 iron escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 brass-plated steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin to connect the knobs. All iron parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast iron, not flimsy wrought/stamped iron. Each set weighs almost 4 lbs! The sets were removed ... morefrom 2 doors that were salvaged from Northeastern Ohio. We found the sets very dirty(see last photo) Since then. We cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. Originally. All parts were painted with an enamel paint to prevent rusting. Since then, some of the paint wore off and rust started to form. If you prefer a distressed look, the rust is just what you're looking for. However, if you prefer a cleaner, uniform look, you could either paint the knobs and escutcheons, or rub the knobs and escutcheons with oil every couple of months. The parts of Set#2 have more rust than those of Set#1. All parts are in great shape with only the light nicks and scratches. That you would expect to find on hardware 100+ years old. There are no breaks. Cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches. About the locks: The locks of both sets are reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. If you look at the last 2 photos. You will see that the locks originally had 2 latches. Prior to cleaning, we studied the locks to gain an understanding of their function in order to make a key for each. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Cast Bronze Door Set w/Knobs Plates. Lock. Heavy-duty. Commercial-grade hardware made by, The J.B. Schroder Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio sometime during the first half of the previous century. It consists of 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze escutcheons, 1 bronze mortise cylinder with a bronze anti-theft collar, 1 steel mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 split spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. All bronze parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not flimsy stamped bronze or plated iron. The lock is not reversible. And it could only accommodate a door that swings away from the room/building, towards the right. If your door swings towards the left, you could still install this set, but you would have to install it upside down, with the knobs on top, and cylinder ... moremortise on the bottom. The mortise lock is locked by pushing the bottom button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either pushing the top button or using a key. Once locked, the door could only be opened by turning the knob on the interior side of the door, or by using the key on the exterior side of the door. This is a very convenient feature for the person inside of the room. No more locking and unlocking to let someone in. Simply turn the knob, open the door, let someone in, close the door and it's already locked. To disable the auto-lock feature, simply push the top button. We found the cylinder mortise without a key. Without a key. We are uncertain if the cylinder works. You could take it to a local locksmith, who could rekey it for under $20. If it is not functional, you could also buy a new cylinder for the same price. When we salvaged the set. The long, thin bolt which inserts into the lock through the small hole above the latches on the faceplate of the lock, to secure the cylinder mortise, was missing. ANTIQUE DOOR PASSAGE MORTISE with STEEL KNOBS.very good condition This early to mid 1900's antique storm door knobs with mortise passage insert is still in very good condition. They have been wire brushed to clean the surface. Knobs are steel. Measuring about 2" in diameter with no obvious dents on the round knob, and about 2" long on the lever knob. Cover plates are missing. Cast iron passage mortise insert operates properly, and measures about 1 7/8" x 1 3/4" x 9/16" thick. Good luck bidding!

Six ornate old cast brass door knobs. Complete with three spindles and original brass screws. I do not have the back plates or latches. Each knob measures 2 1/4" in diameter and has deep designs featuring four different plants/flowers. No cracks or chips. Screws/threads are good though I haven't tried all the holes. Antique Eastlake Victorian Oval Door Knobs Backplates & Lock Set Japanned Finish
This auction is for a complete set of late Victorian Eastlake style door hardware. I recently removed them from the front door of an old farmhouse that we purchased the salvage from as it was to be bulldozed. Everything is there and works but there is wear to the Japanned finish on the inside door plate as we had to strip white paint from it and the lock edge. Normal scratches and darkening. Both the knobs and plates are steel. A very attractive style for either the entry or inside doors. No key.

this is a lot of 5 matching door knobs. They are metal with an Art Nouveau design of winding ivy on the face of them. They measures approx 2 1/4" in diameter across the front. There are two pairs and one single. Two of the bars that connect the handles are included. Sorry. I have no idea what kind of metal these are, possibly two-part cast or pressed steel, they did not react to a magnet. These had different colors of paint on them and I was able to remove most of it. This set is in great condition and looks like it has never been used. Both back plates measure 7" long x 2-1/4" wide& the lock box itself measures 3 1/8" deep x 3-3/4" high ~ not including the faceplate. The faceplate end cover measures about 5-5/8" long. The door knobs have a 2-1/4" diameter. The patent number on the lock box dates it to 1948. Please take the time to view our pictures for additional item specifics& condition details. 8 Antique Brown Porcelain Door Knobs, Bennington ?, Rockingham ?
For your consideration. I'm offering 8 antique brown marbled porcelain door knobs found in a drawer of my father's workbench. These could be Bennington but I do not know for sure. The pair(left) is very nice- no chips or crazing- great color. The next knob(with long metal rod) is a solid mottled brown with a couple of chips on one side. 3 knobs have short metal backs- 1 is excellent with great color, 1 has a few shallow chips, the smaller one is very dark brown with a few shallow chips. The remaining 2 have no metal on the back- 1 is excellent and 1 has 2 small chips. I took several pictures- please check them out.
