There is old paint on plate edges and a mis-glaze spot on one knob, seen near top in last image with no cracks and some surface rust on metal parts. An old brass or bronze(I believe) padlock in the shape of a heart. It is being offered as is and as found. I am not a lock collector. So I really can only describe what I see. I believe it is brass or bronze(magnet does not stick to it) and probably has been exposed to the elements. It is currently locked and I do not have the key. It meausres about 4" by 2 1/2" At the point at the bottom appears to have been a bolt, but it is corroded. The only identifying mark I can find is on the loop portion. It has engraved"S.C.E. G Co" which is probably South Carolina Electric and Gas Company. I would think this would date somewhere in the first half of the 20th century. Please email with any questions.

This is a stunning large 19th century antique brass and wrought iron door chain lock. the brass pieces are very ornate and made from thick heavy brass. They are done in high relief with a stylized floral design. the solid iron chain is completely forged and wrought by hand. the chain is connected to the square bracket and to the sliding bracket and are equally as ornate. in great antique shape with a nice patina. the large bracket measures 5 3/8 inches by 2 inches and the square bracket measures 1 3/4 by 1 3/4 inches. Antique door hardware has white painted back plates, glass door knobs and a cast iron mortise lock mechanism with a turn- knob back-set of 2 3/8" 2- back plates. 2 5/8"wide x 8" high, pressed metal. 2- 2" diameter glass knobs. Well-matched; however, one base is solid brass and the other is of brass-plated metal. 1- cast iron mortise lock/cylinder mechanism measuring 1/2" wide x 3" deep x 3 5/8" high with attached 7/8" x 5 1/4" face-plate. 1- 3 1/8" long threaded latch-turning shaft. The set does not include a key or latch catch. Everything is in good condition and operates well; with minor rust.

Mortise lock has a face plate of 7/8' wide x 5 1/4' tall. 3 1/4' deep. Made by Reading Knob Works. Comes with one tested and functional skeleton key. I test the key multiple times on both sides of the lock to insure fit and function. The strike bolt can be reversed for doors that swing the other way. This lot consists of two ornate cast iron matching pair of door knobs. The knobs are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and measure 2" diameter. Antique 1867 Bronze Mechanical Crank Door Bell Ringer Hardware
Here we have an antique doorbell which measures approximately 5" across the back plate. The mounting plate is cast metal and I believe that the top bell piece is bronze(magnet doesn't stick) It is marked PATENTED DEC 31. 1867. The bell part doesn't screw onto the bottom piece for some reason, so it would need some kind of glue or other adhesive to hold it in place. There are many pages of door, window and drawer fittings-handles, pulls, bolts, hat& coat hooks, lamp brackets, fireplace shovels, tongs stands& Fire Dogs" also a few tools of various sorts. It is only fair shape at best- though really not at all bad for its age. The covers and spines have heavy wear, with torn out, ragged, areas along the edge of the spine. Binding is weak-partially split at front. No loose pages.

Pulley's, yoke, cow drinking cups and much of the misc. cast iron, comes from the country home that was built in the 1800's, it was at one time a dairy farm. Lots of treasures left behind. This track hardware is missing the wheel. The writing on it is legible and the cast iron hardware is solid, it has not been cleaned and I believe the surface rust could be removed at least most of it.
