Offering this very unusual pair of Victorian era Brass Andirons. They have a morrish influenced scribed design on the surface. Ball and Claw feet at base with large Balls at the top. The balls may have had a finial of some sort at one time. Firedogs are in rough shape. Will need to be tightened up. Measure 29" Tall. 13 1/2" Wide each. Located in Waynesboro, Virginia, on the western slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, the company manufactured cast iron stoves and wood and coal heaters. The company’s motto at the time was, Loth Stoves Make Happy Homes” Loth. Together with his son Percy, made the decision in the late 1890’s to add frying pans, waffle irons, tea kettles and other cookware to ... morethe company’s product line. Some of the tools used to make those original cooking products are still in the company’s archives. When Mr. Loth died in 1904. Percy ran the company until failing health caused him to seek help. At the end of World War I, he invited his paternal cousin, retired Army Captain Richard Clemmer, to take control of the business. Clemmer realized that the future was not in wood and coal heating and in 1922 hired a Canadian electrical engineer, Mr. Fred Cuffe. Together they designed an electric stove and by the mid 1920’s the company was marketing what Clemmer named the Hotpoint Range. In promoting the cast iron stove business. Captain Dick, as he was known, used a small cast iron frying pan as his calling card. Here is a great pair of Cahill andirons and a fireplace screen for your buying consideration. Recently acquired them at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. These andirons and screen look great together. The andirons were made by Cahill. The screen has a brass frame and appears to have a frame that is hand forged. But I do not see where there is a makers mark on it. The brass trim piece was barely being held on by one metal wire when I got it and came off completely when I wiped it down. The three holes are still intact n the piece to reattach it to the screen. The two pieces look great together. Two of the legs of the andirons will sit on top of each other for the bodies to fit thru the slots in ... morethe screen. Each andiron is 18" tall. By 19.75" across, by 14" wide. Antique Bradley and Hubbard andirons bronze/brass circa 1890/1900
Up for auction is a very unique pair of Bradley and Hubbard andirons. These beautiful antique andirons were an estate find in South Carolina low country. They are made or brass or bronze except for the leg part where the log goes that is cast iron. The entire front including the handle is made of the same material brass or bronze.I can see a few places where the shiny metal shows thru as shown in the pictures. I do not want to remove the beautiful patina. The top part is hollow and you can turn the top finial and unscrew it. I only turned it slightly for the photo but it appears to be in 4 separate pieces. These are both in great condition and I do not see any damage or repairs. I have not been able to find any just like it in my research. They are both stamped Bradley and Hubbard mfg co 12. These andirons are copper plating over cast iron. The back of each one is impressed with Adams 4-40. They are in excellent vintage used condition with minor wear which actually enhances the antique finish. The style is Art Nouveau. In the shape of urns with petals at the bottom, but I believe these were made during the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century. Height of each andiron is about 14.5" They have a slightly more copper color than the photos indicate. I use bubble wrap and packing peanuts with all fragile items. Here's a very nice set of cast-iron. Hessian Soldiers Fireplace Andirons and tools. Rare to see both together; usually the tools get separated from the andirons. In pretty good condition with original vibrant colors-have no major damage but do have a few light scratches and burns(yet rather mild to what is usually seen with these) The Andirons are 20" high. 18" long, and 11" wide(at their feet) Tools and Tool Holder are 31" high. Antique 1887 cast iron OWL ANDIRONS,GLOWING YELLOW GLASS EYES,fireplace hearth
Up for bid we have these antique owl andiorns. The owls stand 16 inches tall and are 9 inches wide at the base. The leg part that goes back in the fireplace measure 15 inches long. The owls have glass eyes that are in superb condition that glow when backlit by the fire in the fireplace. One of the owls have been repaired where the leg connects to the back of the owl. This is not a new repair but one made years ago. It is a very solid and good repair. I spent 15 minutes trying to beat the leg out of the back of the owl so it would be easier to ship. That is when I discovered the repair as the leg on the other owl slipped out nice as you please with one tap to knock it loose from the slotted groove it sits in. Someone really took some time making this repair as they drilled about a quarter inch hole at a 45 degree angle through the solid steel ... moreleg and then just slightly into the back of the cast iron owl piece. They then took the time to tap a thread into the hole on both pieces and also cut a thread onto a piece of quarter inch steel Dow which was then slotted on one end so the two pieces could then be screwed together. The repair can be seen in the last two photographs. If you do a completed listings search for 1887 owl andiorns you will find that an identical pair of these that one of the owls had a crack in the glass eye recently sold for $750.00! That was on a but it now! I believe in giving everyone a fair chance at owning the antiques I sell for a deal so I will start these at a PENNY! Posted with

This is a very high quality pair of solid bronze antique fireplace andirons. they are extremely heavy and made from thick solid bronze with a lovely gold gilded finish. they are rare in that they are both completely dimensional and the detailing wraps all the way around the piece. the finials are 3d flames coming from a torch as well as above the cast iron wood rests there are also flame finials. the shafts are done in a circular tapering shape which is beautifully ribbed and raised crosshatches. the thick bronze feet are equally as ornate and have stylized claw legs. the back rests are made from cast iron and have a piece of brass covering the top of half of it. they are in great shape and each measures 20 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 18 inches back to front.
