Pair of Antique Vintage Peerless Cast Iron Andirons
These andirons measure approx. 19 1/2" high. The front feet are 10" apart and they measure 14" front to back. It says peerless 3572 on the backs of both& the number 1912 on the very back bottom piece. I don't know much about these so please study the pics carefully. They have wear to the finish& rust. It looks like they had a gold finish on at one time. I actually like them the way they are but that's my opinion. Antique 1920's 1930,s Brass Dog Figural Andirons Not Marked Tennesse Chrome
I believe these andirons are from the 1920.s 1930.S. Antique-vintage Art Deco style Whippet-Greyhound-Houndog, dog andirons.Untouched,as found except for the back where i wiped to look for any obscure marks. They measure 13 3/4 inches tall and 17 inches deep and 5 inches wide at the hide legs. They seem to be smaller than other recent listing. I did not clean the front, but i did try to find marking on the back,but i could not see any.The Tennesse chrome mark that apears to be on most other EBAY listings is absent from these. They must be made of brass as a magnet does not stick to the dogs themselves,but it does stick to the stretchers.They appear to be well used. I believe these to be old, somewhat scarce maybe but certainly not rare, nor are they in unbelieveable condition,nor is this your last chance to aquire a pair,they have seen considerable ... moreware and they show it after being banged around for many years.If you are looking for near mint,virtualy unused,non better these are probably not the ones for you. For your consideration a fabulous pair of Mid-Century Modern fireplace andirons in the manner of James Mont. Solid 1/4 inch thick. Black painted brass, with iron reaches. Interesting Asian-Modern styling for the vintage fireplace. They each measure 17" tall by 10-3/4" wide by 15 inches deep. With the over-lapping brass design they are 1/2 inch thick. They weigh about 7 pounds each. The condition is very good with only a couple of spots that need touching up with flat black paint. This listing is for a pair of Victorian Gothic Andirons Fire-Dogs. They are in original condition. These are double sided. 4 pieces total.front facing decorative pieces and the pieces that function to hold the logs. The top has a round scallop design with"V" fan design in center and curls/flourishes. IThere is ribbed feathering around the points on the scallops and in the ring above the fan. Beneath this top is a spiral twist that lands on a piece with double dragon heads. Further down there is a pod footed piece with flourishes and possible"scales" pattern. On the backside of this piece there are two metal protrusions a peg and one is threaded like a screw. These protrusions fit into the base pieces that hold the logs. Refer to photos of andiron standing. There are no makers marks. Each"pair" of andiron.that ... moreis andiron with functional iron weighs 11 pounds and 8 ounces. They are 19" in height. 7 1/2 inches in width at the foot and 5 1/4 inches width at the top. These andirons are in original condition. Some original paint remains on the forward facing side. There are no chips. Nicks or cracks in these pieces. No restoration. The pieces that hold the wood show signs of fire use. There is some scattered rust on the pieces. The pieces that hold the logs slide onto a peg and screw on the back of the andirons. The screws may have been shortened at some point as they are about 1/4" in length. The pieces are sturdy when logs are placed on them providing stablility with weight. These have not been cleaned by this seller with the exception of using a dry brush to clean off some dust to expose detail. We ship within 24 hours of payment clearing. Antique ART NOUVEAU/Arts Crafts Era Andirons~Flowers/Floral~Brass/Iron~Victorian
Exceptional set of ornate floral andirons. They have a strong Art Nouveau influence. But look fabulous in a Victorian home. Ornate brass details. Including fabulous wild rose flowers on the top, and ornate legs. Solid and substantial, most likely made c. 1910-1920. The base is forged iron and pivots. They look to have been painted selectively at one time. I intended to take a heat gun to them and remove it. But never got around to it. As long as I can get the nut attaching the brass decorative part to the iron section to loosen. I will be disassembling for shipping, as I think they will travel better this way. They measure approximately 10" across the feet. 19.5" tall, and 18" deep. I mentioned that they pivot, which allowed me to display them in a more shallow fireplace.

Vtg lion head feet andirons cast iron base brass colored (shipped unassembled)
Pair of lion head and feet andirons. They look like brass but a magnet sticks to them so they are brass colored cast iron on the base and the round part at the top of the column is lighter weight(tin or sheet metal) Measure 18" tall. Made in Japan. They lean forward as shown in the 4th picture. I am unsure if andirons were made to do this or not but I wanted to point it out. Some darkened areas are in the recessed part either from age or to simulate age. I purchased these at an estate auction and do not know the age. They weigh nearly 12 pounds when packed. The camera flash angle in the 2nd and 3rd picture makes them look like they're different colors but they are exactly the same. They easily come apart from the firedogs with a single bolt and nut(included) for each andiron. Vintage Brass Decorated Fireplace Screen and Brass Finial Andirons
Here is a lovely vintage Brass Decorated Fireplace Screen and a pair of Brass Finial Style Andirons. I am quite certain this is solid brass as it is quite heavy and non magnetic. I believe. But am not certain, that if it was brass plated it would likely be magnetic. The screen is in perfect shape with no holes or rips, and has a beatiful flowing floral and leaf design with two birds in the center. The screen piece measures about 28 1/2" wide and 27" tall. The width(of the bottom legs) is about 9" The andirons measure about 23" high and they extend back about 17 1/2" The feet width is about 8" The set needs to be cleaned/polished. There is some tarnish on the andirons and some faded finish on the finial portions of the andirons. This is really a beautiful set and in very nice shape. Very Nice Pair of Vintage Antique Brass and Iron Andirons
For your consideration is a very nice pair of antique andirons. I have very little knowledge of andirons so please view the photos carefully. I am not sure of the age and style. So I will have to leave it up to the experts. If I had to guess I would say late 19th to early 20th Century. The andirons are made of brass and iron except the two front feet look like copper. The approximate measurements are 27" high. 20" long, and 10-1/4" wide on the front cross piece. As for condition: The items look to be in pretty nice shape to me with normal light age wear for their age. There is at top of one of the finials where it is bent a little. I would guess that would bend right back in shape. There is some light surface rust on the back piece iron part. The brass has some discoloration and needs a good polishing. Black Butler & Maid Andirons Cast iron Mid 1800's Civil War Era from Alabama
Up for bids is a piece of history. This pair of unusual andirons are rare indeed. I discovered them at an estate sale here in the deep south. They are made of heavy cast iron and weigh a lot. They measure 16& 1/2 inches tall and 17 inches long. From the front to the end of the log bar. They have no chips or cracks in them. They did have normal cast iron surface rust. But were cleaned and seasoned to deter rust. They are in very good condition They bid up quite high but I am offering them up with NO RESERVE and with FREE SHIPPING.
