The sideboard is in amazing condition, with very ... morelittle sign of wear at all. It is the original finish and the mirror has the original glass intact. There are some visible seams on the burled top, and it does have some holes from wood beetles, but it has been treated, and should not have any more issues. There are a few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece, but I do know that it comes from France, and was originally contructed between 1850 and 1880. The sideboard has short cabriole reverse scroll feet.

This good sized sideboard providing plenty of storage has a plank top over three frieze drawers with two large fielded panel doors with working key enclosing shelves being raised on squat cabriole legs. 18th C French Provincial Enfilade c 1780 This is a stunning French enfilade made from English oak. The entire piece has 18th century craftsmanship with dovetailed joints and peg nails. A few interior areas have been re-inforced with screws. There are four cabinet doors and four deep drawers. The cabinet door on the far right has compartments that have been customized to hold flatware and serving pieces. The far two left doors have anterior section that is not divided so it can hold larger pieces. The hardware and key are original to the piece. The enfilade measures 21 1/4" deep x 38" high x 8 1/4 feet long(99 inches) The cabinet offers a tremendous amount of storage and I have used it in my home office for a very long time. ITEM: Up for auction is this true early 18th century antique. All original without any restorations. Very dark rich wood, solid construction with dents, dings and scratches from age and usage. The bronze drawer pulls are the originals along with the original locks and door hinges. I recently came across the key and although the lock does not move much, I am sure with some oil it will be moving freely in no time. The top and back are put together with a type of tongue and grove type of construction with square peg nailing. The only downfall is that the left door front is missing the original bronze decorative piece. One may be able to have a new one cast to match for a minimal cost. Solid wormy fruitwood and walnut are well worn and have a rich old finish with warm antique patina. Wrought brass hardware and lift off iron hinges appear original on this imposing rustic furniture from southern France. Three drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Behind the doors is a later shelf. There are remnants of old wallpaper lining. As is typical, feet were rebuilt many years ago on this historic cabinet.
