On offer is this Roman Aucissa brooch(fibula) dating to the mid 1st century AD. These brooches were introduced to Britain by the invading army c. 45 AD and went out of fashion around 60 AD. This example is in good excavated condition, though is missing the iron pin as usual. This is one of a number of Roman and Celtic Antiquities I am selling this week from an old collection.
