Description This switch is in good condition and about 2" in diameter. The porcelain is all intact and has not cracks. It is marked Weber on the bottom and is a dark brown color. The cap is solid brass that has aged to a nice warm bronze color. It could be polished to a high shine or left in the condition it is. The switch has small scratches and a couple small dents in the brass. It was made in the USA by HUBBELL. The switch looks good inside and tests OK with a meter. Just some dust. Antique Vintage Paulding Porcelain & Bakelite On/Off Toggle Switch
This old switch says 9602B on the back. The base is porcelain and the top and switch appear to be bakelite. It is 1 15/16" across and 1 1/2" deep counting the toggle. No chips. Cracks or hazing on the surface. Only shows a little wear(very minor at that) in the deep part of the screw holes and around the bottom edge where the original button switch might have rubbed against the switch cover. I have searched all over the web trying to find information about the age of an item of this nature and I couldn't find anything to help identify this specifically. This large old switch plate or switch cover is for 3 switches. It is steel with an enameled porcelain coating that is sometimes called agate ware or graniteware. It is for the old style of push button switches used in the early to mid 20th century. It is 6 1/4 inches long by 4 7/16 inches tall. There are some small spots of light rust on the back where the black enameled coating does not completely cover the steel underneath. Overall it is in very good used condition.
