It was made from.040 brass. A heavy gauge brass. The neat tarnish color was what remained on the brass after I soaked it in paint stripper to remove the layers of paint. There are no dents and a few tiny scratches from use. There are no deep scratches that would not buff out. Since it is solid brass a magnet will not stick and it could be polished to a high shine. 3 Antique Solid Brass Push Button Light Switch Covers- Polished & Lacquered
Here is a group of 3 solid brass switch covers that will fit old style push button switches. They measure 2 3/4" by 4 1/2" which is the standard for all covers. Two of them are marked on the back with the name"The Perkins Electric Switch Mfg. Co. Bridgeport, CT. They also include a patent date of November 3. 1903. The other one does not indicate any maker and is a tad lighter in weight than the first two. All are in good condition having been polished and lacquered.
