This is a great auction for a lot of ten(10) assorted vintage Bakelite electrical outlet cover plates. All of these plates are in good condition.they just need to be cleaned up. I cleaned one of them and the majority of the dirt(and what I'm assuming is tobacco staining) came off with a wet cloth. I'm sure a good cleaner will get them nice and shiny again. There are two with cracks and I took photos of each of these. The first is a hairline crack in the body of one with the decontrol. It's not too noticeable and should still work for its purpose. The other is a very small crack/chip at the screw hole of one of the smooth edged plates. Five of these covers have the deco design pattern along the perimeter of the plate and the other five have a smooth finish. I took separate photos of each group so you can see the difference. Not seen since about 1955 when they were packed away in an electricians storage boxes. If you have a 1930's home you must remember these. I know that they are used in all the original Greendale homes and probably all the 1937-8 Greenbelt communities; so keep your home"original" Sorry I have no switches: just these covers. They are for the small switches that mount in the metal bracket included. These are all for a"single gang" box. There are 5 brown double switch covers; 3 brown triple switch covers that are produced to mount up against wood-work; 3 ivory double switch covers(newer style) 4 ivory old style triple switch covers(also produced to mount up against wood-work. They have ribbing across the central area and the wide horizontal bands across the top and bottom give them a handsome detail. Each Measures approx. 4-1/2” high x 2-3/4” wide Screws are not included. Made of Bakelite. With line work and Art Deco accents on the perimeter these hard-to-find creamy ivory plates go well with Art Deco and many other decors. Nicely grooved background with the Art Deco bands at the top and bottom. Be sure and enlarge the photo to see all the detail! These items may have need to be cleaned& may have some paint from ... moreprevious owner. There may also be hairline crack from being tightening down to far, light scuffs from use. see photos, I clean each item but sometimes I may miss something. They may have minor wear marks and one has become dull with age but they are still very useable.
