They are found either in flint lined safety boxes put into the ground by the original owners or in clumps of dirt if the boxes have broken open, which is the case most of the time. If you look on-line you will see that almost all the ancient Roman and Celtic gold and silver jewelry has been cleaned. It has been cleaned to show its true beauty.
