These precious samplings of cross stitch and needlework are very sweet and pretty. Huge Early Antique Quilt Civil War Era 84"x84" Lovely Soft Color NR Four Crosses
This is an amazing piece of quilt history. Not only is this quilt Civil War era in age. But it is very large. In those days, most beds were much smaller, so generally large quilts were made by members of the more well-off families who had larger rooms and beds. This quilt was originally even larger since I cut it down a bit because the borders were frayed and then I rebound the edges. I also patched a little bit on the back because the backing was also frayed, as you can see in the last picture. There are also some light stains here and there, the worst being on the back and also an occasional small snag hole. The fabric has faded from a brighter rose color to a very beautiful, soft rose. This quilt is not in excellent condition, so please take that into consideration before bidding. I have started it at a very low price. As you can see. ... moreThere are small holes in the rose/peach colored fabric. This is where the fabric was printed with a darker dye that was slightly acidic, so that created the little holes. It does not really affect the integrity of the fabric to a great extent and I, personally, think it is a charming feature since it only happens on very, very old quilts. I did gently wash this quilt, so it is ready to use. However, since it's 140-150 years old, it probably should be used for display than actual everyday use even though it's not really all that fragile. The design is called Four Crosses and it is hand-quilted and hand-pieced. There are some areas where the quilting thread has broken and although the quilting is nice. It was not done by a master quilter, I don't believe. It is done in what is called the clam shell quilting style, which was most often used in the South. In my imagination I picture a young Southern Belle making this quilt while she awaits her soldier's return from war. This is a very cool Suit of Armor/Knight statue. It appears that he is made of tin. But I am not positive. He is somewhat lightweight for his size, is what I basing that assumption on. He comes in two pieces, his torso can be carried separately. He is old. I have no idea how old though. He has rust& patina that give me an added flair. He stands apprx 6' tall, 27" wide& 22" deep. He is standing on an original Base which makes him stable. His dimensions make him impossible to be worn. He has a shield& sword, as well as three Knights Templar crosses on his suit. The altar cloth is filled with amazing embroidery crosses and flowers and accented with couched metallic gold thread. This small table cover would be great for the upcoming holiday table dressing. This small table cloth would look lovely displayed on a small table or draped over a large table as a unique table topper. The hand done silk thread embroidery design is of 4 separate crosses in each of the corners. Above the four crosses is a flower bud leading to a large open flower with petals followed by more flower buds and leaves and stems. The colors of the silk thread embroidery are in shades of green. White purple and yellow. The silk embroidery design is ... morefurther enhanced with gold metallic couched thread and a few rhinestones. The fabric of the church altar cloth is satin brocade in a pearl ivory color with a Jonquil daffodil flowers design in the brocade. The reverse side of the altar cloth is a pale yellow colour. The altar cloth is finished off with a yellow rope cord trimming with a tiny loop in each of the corners. The French church altar cloth measurements are: 36” x 34” 90 cm x 85 cm) While not perfect in condition it is worthy of being enjoyed and appreciated for its beauty as a lovely religious art piece. This lot contains three crosses and one rossary. One cross is very LARGE and hosts amazing designs on it but is not marked. The chain it is on measures 20 inches in length and is beautiful but is also not marked. The second cross is marked and signed by the maker. It is gold filled 12K over sterling silver. The chain it comes with is also 12K gold filled. The third cross does not have a chain but is marked on the back of the cross. I can't read the marking. I tried to take pictures of this marking. But it covers the hole back of the cross and would not turn out in the photographs. The fourth piece is a large and quite beautiful rossary. This rossary is not marked. This unusual stool has a built-in handle on the seat for easy carrying! The side panels feature carved crosses in rounded indents and added"beads" around the top(one"bead" is missing) The seat is painted a mustard color that doesn't match the oak grain of the sides. This piece measures 12¾" wide at the top. 10¼" wide at the bottom and 16" high. The bottom edges looks like it sat in water and is discolored and rotted in spots though the wood is very sturdy still so a bit of refinishing would fix that. There also are paint splatters in spots that I did not attempt to remove(light green) My guess is that someone refinished the bottom part but left the seat; there are a couple spots underneath where the paint is visible. Wonderful & Rare Antique Tao Te'h Jade Bi Disc with Pierced Crosses Carving
I am listing here some of the very best of my collection of rare antique and archaic jade amulets I have collected over the years. Most of these were purchased from 8 to 15 years ago when such things were still available. These jade artifacts each has an information card and I do believe they were dated accurately by the few sources I had dealings with at the time. Most of these people are no longer vending jade pieces except occasionally at great cost. There is no other paper trail and I cannot absolutely verify the exact age of any of these pieces. This ... morewonderful jade Bi amulet is from the period from the Tang to the Song Dynasties. 618 to 1279 AD. A Bi(Bee) was an ancient ritual object that was used in ancestral communication. It is sometimes referred to as the"Ear of Heaven" or"Heaven's Gate" It is a most interesting and rare jade Bi carving with four ox like Tao T'eh faces carved in relief on each side. Most amazing are the pierced cross shape carvings in the center. I am not sure of their significance but they must have been a challenge to carve. It has mild to moderate surface erosion but carvings are sharp and clear. It measures about 2-3/8 x 5/16 inches. I have no documentation other than the card shown but this piece is consistent with a jade carving that is hundreds of years old. Free shipping is in USA only.

Antique Papago Indian Basket Nice Size Serving Tray with Handles Crosses Design For Your Indian or Native American Basketry Collection Details Description: A beautiful nice size genuine Papago Indian Basket(Native American) This elongated basket has handles on both ends and is rather deep. The basket is made of braided grass and is beautifully shaped with sides and I would say it is a serving tray or possibly a bread basket. The basket has a flat oval or rectangular base and sides that rise to a decorated edge. the basket is decorated with what looks like crosses all around the sides made of darker plant material(grass) The rim of the basket is highlighted with darker(almost black or dark brown) grass in a nice slanted pattern. These baskets were handcrafted in Arizona. A very nice old decorative piece to add to your collection. Please carefully ... morereview the photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain. But moost likely early 1900s, could be earlier. Origin: Arizona. USA Size: The top measures ~11 1/2" long with the handles included and ~7" wide. The basket is ~2 1/4" high. This beautiful basket weighs over 8 ounces. Maker: Unknown. Marks: Unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics- Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice piece of Native American basketry with very nice and colorful design. Condition: The basket is in very good condition. Given its age and utilitarian function, with no breaks or repairs. It does have some soiling, which we believe can be cleaned but we leave that to the next owner. The piece also has darkened on the bottom(see 5th photo) and we are not certain whether this is original to the making or is it from use. However this darkening does not affect the integrity, quality or beauty of the basket. Finally, the piece has the normal issues you would expect of a handmade piece like this such as obvious grass ends, a loose edge of a grass strand, and occasional weaving error. Handmade and Estate, Antique Rosary, with lot of crosses
These two rosarys are absolutely beautiful. The anique rosary has amber hue crystal beads with brass filgree casing and nice 2 1/2" crusifix cross and is 20" long. Very old. The blue rosary is handmade with beautiful colbolt blue czech beads and blue and white French beads with 1 3/4" lacey Mother of Pearl Cross. Also has crystal quarts chips between the beads. I strung this rosary with artifical sinew which is extremely strong and fluid. I made this piece over 20 years ago and still looks new. I just added sterling silver Mother Mary with Child. Onyx cross, faux turquoise and metal crosses.

Stands 13" tall. 7" diameter bowl and 3-legged base. it was advertised as a Bradley& Hubbard at the estate but is unmarked. There are 3 significant dings in the pillowed areas around the bowl, the rest of the lamp looks good. It is very ornate with religious symbolism. There is light tarnish on the bowl. It has been electrified and works great. It is very clean. It holds a 10" shade. I do have glass chimneys and quilted shades available but did not list with the lamp because the weight runs up the shipping and the shades I have are common. One is red and the other milk glass.
