Origial glass lantern slide looking down Elizabeth street from Melville Street intersection on a quite morning. On left is the Best and Co department store. This building is still standing and has long been the premises of McCann's musical shop. On left is shop with canvas covering over window indicating early morning or Sunday, however workmen can be seen on ladders Best& Co verandah. The group of boys all are wearing straw boaters and possibly a group from a private school or the then new university. The iron bent pole near them is to hold up the tramway overhead line. Arc light can be seen hanging in centre of intersection and street gas lamp near the group of boys.

Condition: The map is in Very Good condition with overall tonal aging and some darkening along the fold. Basically as seen in the pics.
