Vintage Ukulele Hawaii 1920's Exc. Cond. Made for Albert & Son Sydney Koa!!
This auction is for a vintage. Probably 1920's ukulele, beautifully made and in excellent original condition. It has a label inside and also at the top indicating it was made for J. Albert& Son music store in Sydney Australia, and I am assuming it was imported from Hawaii at that time. Whoever made it it was the deluxe model, and It has a herringbone pattern of binding around the body and sound hole, and also the fingerboard. There is also a strip of binding about 1/2" wide up the center of the fingerboard with a chevron type of pattern. It has it's original tuners and also some very old strings on it. There are no splits in the wood or any loss of binding visible. The body appears to be Koa wood. It measures almost 21" in length and about 6" wide. There are a few scuffs on the finish but I am leaving the instrument ... moreexactly as found. This is fresh from a local estate of several generations of actors, and is being offered to the public for the first time.
